X-pipe only Sound

BIMMERPOST
     Featured on BIMMERPOST.com
Anyone have just an xpipe installed?

I would like to downpipes, but if i can get a nice grunt from an xpipe i'll do that. Or just maybe straight pipe a small section of the exhaust.

Post a video if you have, thanks!

I replaced the resonator with an x-pipe on a '19 M5 Competition.

I read good things about it but it wasn't what I was looking for, I still want a deeper note and more "thunder."

Now I'm looking at doing downpipes or catless secondaries.

Did it give you a louder stock sound?

X pipe makes a very nice upgrade in sound at all throttle levels. It was all I needed.

It took an Akra on my X5M to make me happy for comparison, even though the sounds are totally different.

These downpipes seem stupid overpriced.

https://x-ph.com/evolution-racewerks-f90-m5-downpipes/
These are one of the better priced downpipes I've come across; $715.50.

Also came across Megan Racing lower downpipes for $550 but haven't been able to find any information about them.

Another options I'm considering -open up the mufflers and straight pipe the exhaust through the mufflers. I had this done on my 2011 M3. Haven't come across anyone on the forum that's done it though.

I originally bought the Comp resonator and installed it at home. Afterward I wanted more sound so I took it off and bought an Eisenmann X pipe and cut it to the same length as the Comp. Then it just bolted back in place.

thats what i was saying too, i did this on my c63 and it was amazing, and cheap. Just remove a small section, put some straight pipe, done.

Nobody has just an xpipe video to share?

I'll take a video and upload it. For whatever reason, I feel that the exhaust tone from revving the car is much different than while driving it - and this is when driving with the windows down.

I'm going to go the straight pipe route first before considering the lower downpipes. I think it can be done for $300-400. Lower downpipes will be around $1,200 all in.

I posted pure (stock non Comp),( Comp ) plus Just posted (X Pipe only). All three vids are the same iPhone so you can compare the differences. All three vids have the stock rear muffler. Just resonator changes.

thanks for the link, xpipe alone and nothing else sounds decent. if you ever end up doing a video with the car driving under full load, please post.

Thousands for pipe is insane to me.

Exhaust sound is terribly subjective. As bad as car color. For me, the sound volume increase from base M5 to M5 Comp was gained again from M5 Comp to X pipe.
