I am okay with this to be honest. M8 competition cost more and less car.
Huracan is a sweet spot but I am not VW guy.
M5 CS is perfect in every direction..
Find it so funny that the latest greatest Huracan who gets rave reviews with 1 little nitpick is that you can't have a custom drive mode, It's like they have everything, na V10, emotion, quality but they miss that one little thing that becomes an annoyance for all your ownership experience haha

Color theme not for me. Hood is very interesting. I'd like to see in another color- so if someone here gets one, and then paints, etc., do show us. Interior is awesome. 4 seats don't work for me, but the buyer wouldn't want or need the 5 seats. the price-to me is ouch!

Very cool car by BMW - Not sure how the the same company could design something beautiful like this and the G8X at the same time.....

Ah ok thanks, when you say on. In most of the video I though the lights were on and the DRL portion was white? Agreed I see them on in the still tile shot on YT.

Perhaps imperial numbers have gone through the former Trump administration and been inflated somehow... 😜😂

If carbon exterior package includes the hood it saves weight. Not quite sure where the hood belongs to in the listing of weight loss.
Even the BMW USA website states it "...shaves more than 200 pounds off the curb weight of the standard M5."

It would be nice to get some clarification as I've definitely seen both on different reputable sites, and it's a pretty big difference.

Edit: just spoke to buddy who knows better than me. His understanding is it's 230lbs lighter than US spec m5c, but only 154lbs less than euro spec.

I'm just going to say this.

Who the hell tracks an M5?

BMW needs to relax with the Porsche-fying of their cars.

Lost a seat, comfort and sleeper status and you paid more for it lmao

I love the new M5 CS for these reasons:

- Perhaps one of the best cars for $143K
- The clear intent to make it a rare vehicle will cause each and every one to be sold at a handsome profit
- Hopefully, the profits generated by M5 CS sales will be used wisely to make both the upcoming i4 EV and later the first electrified M vehicle better vehicles at launch

The weight is almost certainly referring to a comparison with the legally reported weight of the standard vehicle in the market the release is meant for. THIS IS NOT apples to apples across markets. There are different legal requirements hence the different comparisons you see online reading different sources meant for different markets.

For example US market curb weight (for the bmwna comparison presser) requires the reported vehicle weight include common options, which for the M5 includes the comp pack and executive pack and probably the driver assist pro (for reference curb weight for the new M3 includes all of these, so the M5 must)

I used to. Have also tracked a base F90, which was pretty fun and capable. Just needed more brakes, which the CS addresses.

(Don’t see any wear indicators on the CCB discs like previous gen, which is a good thing for those who would like to track without visible effect.)

Obviously not a 20 event/year go to track car. Falls into the categories of track inspired and track capable. Gives owners the option of an occasional DE.

Whether utilized on track or not, CS technologies and features will make street driving more eventful. The F90 needs more drama and this looks like a legit effort to bring it.

If CS pushes too far in the track direction, then there’s the base or comp.

Easily the coolest M5 I’ve seen since E60 CSL, but they’re actually producing this one.

M5’s on track aren’t unprecedented.

There are people that want a lighter M5, they are not forcing this configuration on anyone so why complain? Not for you, that's cool, doesn't mean there isn't a market for it or that buying options aren't a good thing.

This car has no problem finding target audience for its type. The price though is above what the M audience is used to. In the unlikely event these don’t sell like hot cakes it will be because of the price not the product.

I can see this attracting a fair share of Panamera GTS and Turbo buyers as well that want something more special than a base/Comp. M5 in terms of being rarer and carrying higher status.

Personally I find it irresistible with only the price preventing me to call the dealer right now.
