I just noticed after upgrading that the Auto light on the windshield wiper arm doesn’t come on any longer? That is such an odd thing to screw up on a software update….😋

Only thing I noticed with the hands free driving is that the timeout period is longer between the assist plus coming back on after you have been disengaged by the system. Also the eye tracking is a little better because now I can look around a little more before I get the keep eyes on road notification. Also the lane keeping assist has less errors in detecting lanes.

I had a a weird instance with my 50e yesterday that I can only contribute to this most recent software update. While driving a number of messages popped up on my iDrive display indicating a fault with driver assistance, DA was disabled and to take caution while driving. I don’t recall the actual wording. It seemed to resolve itself and the messages went away. Interestingly enough, I don’t have the DA package but have the parking assistance package, so the cameras are there.

Some updates seem to take a couple of on/off driving cycles for everything to talk properly together. IOW, don’t worry unless it persists after a couple of days driving.

Assisted Driving Plus is still almost useless where I live. None of the major highways show as compatible (according to the availability map). There's only 2 roads where it's compatible and they are not main highways.

Around where I live, similar situation, but if the traffic on the interstate gets backed up, it is valid. The newest MY has a much higher speed threshold versus my 2021. As soon as the traffic starts to move fast enough, it reverts back to the less capable mode requiring you to be holding the steering wheel.

I know this is a G05 forum, but its the only one talking about 3/2024.4 software update. Mine updated yesterday and I've lost Carplay completely in my 2024 G22 M440ix. I've disconnected, forgotten and reconnected to no avail. Anyone else experiencing this issue?

I don't think we have had anyone report that. Have you tried restarting iDrive?

Squashing bugs is great, but what are the odds we’ll get a functionality update this year? I would love to be able to rearrange the tiles on the main screen…. Seems like such a ridiculous oversight to take away a customization feature that was available in prior versions of idrive.

Seems weird to say but I think that they may already like consider 8.5 old since the new vehicles coming out will be 9.0. Hopefully that doesn't mean there will be no new functionality added but maybe not a lot.

Resetting iDrive fixed the issue with CarPlay. A completely unnecessary thing to do if there wasn’t a glitch. Nonetheless, it’s fixed.

I updated my M60i to 03/2024.40 several days ago and haven't experienced any issues so far (knock on wood)

Related to Apps, keep in mind that an OTA update to the vehicle may also require the Apps to be updated as well.

To do that, at least on my version, go into Apps, then hit the OPTIONS button, and tell it to update the apps. That can clear up some things, too.

The vehicle is a bunch of computers, and an update does not always update all of the modules, so an idrive restart may be needed to force things to resynchronize. Also, some stuff may need a drive cycle on/off before things work completely again.
