That's like saying a flame thrower isn't an adequate replacement for a match... while it'll do the job, it might kill you in the process. So you're completely right--congrats.

Were you able to test drive the M5C before you pulled the trigger? It's definitely not for everyone...

Hello, new to the site. Haven't gotten my M5C yet but currently working with the dealer on one. I sold my 12C and was back and forth between the M5 and another GTR Nismo version. Already owned a gtr so leaning alot towards the M5.

E46 M3 might have been the most balanced/fun M car ever.... And before you decide to roast me, I've been the lucky owner of many M cars in my young life:

3 E46 M3s (1 Vert SMG, 1 Coupe SMG, 1 Coupe 6-Speed)
E60 M5 - SMG
E90 M3 - 6 Speed & ESS 650 Supercharged
F12 M6 DCT with too many mods to list.
Current - F90 M5

All of these cars are special in their own way but I can say that the E46 M3 in the 6-speed variant was my favorite. The only other car I extracted 100% of the power 80% of the time or more in the driver seat was my AP2 S2000.... And if you know cars, the S2K is one for the books.

Second fav when it came to Driver experience was my ESS supercharged E90M3.

Favorite sounding car was my E60 M5. That V10 was intoxicating, especially with the Eisennman Race exhaust.

I love the F90 M5 but i'm still learning the car's language. I'll report back in 2-3 months. But again, all this is highly subjective.

Very subjective but glad you appreciate those M3's. No question that the power and acceleration in my M5C is incredible.... just doesn't quite have ... that (subjective) 'something' or direct connection to the driver like my M3.

The ZL1 0-60 time is 3.5 seconds. The m5Comp is 2.7 seconds. The ZL1 1/4 mile is 11.4 seconds. M5 Comp 1/4 mile time is sub 11s, 10.8 or better. And I can promise you the 4 wheel drive of the M5 handles far better than the 2WD of the ZL1, unless you want to drift. Also I pick up no turbo lag in my car. Zero (which surprised me as the former owner of 2 supercharged cars). And neither have multiple testers so yes it compares favorably with a supercharged rig.

So you ask in what world is the M5 Comp faster and handle better than a ZL1?
