Correct and the first take away for me on the video. Also 80kg lighter than the previous M badged E92 LOL What a joke! Any Sutcliffe weight comments back then I wonder, perhaps, perhaps not.

Power to weight ratio is a win for the M4 vs I8 and it rolls less in corners yet is not as much 'fun'. Hmm.

Sutcliffe at least seems to have consistent reasons though. Lieberman will complain about something in one sentence, only to turn around and praise it in another.

Sutcliffe is not being impartial and objective though with his F8X reviews. In his comparo with the B3, he does everyrhing he can to reduce the acceleration advantage of the M3 vs the the D3 (using launch control on the D3 and not on the M3). It is this hypocrisy that turned me down on his credibility. State subjective opinions, say you don't like the car for this and for this reason, but don't trick objectives measures to prove your point.

Lieberman is just another sub-par reviewer, plain and simple. I don't take anything he says seriously. Also he is not entertaining in the slightest. Hence why you see Carlos Lago in all the new Motor Trend videos (whom I happen to like very much).

I respect Sutcliffe but he is unquestionably biased against the new M3/M4 for whatever reason.

Who knows maybe someone at ///M actually did sleep with his mom LMAO.

That's true. I remember that review versus the Alpina, and I remember scratching my head over his position, which could be summarized as, "Yeah, the M3 is faster but...." at every occasion.

Both cars are great! But just give us a straight review. When the i8 is cutting all the apex to keep up and the M4 is working on his drifting, it ruins your credibility.

The i8 makes some nice downshift noises... I don't get all the hate for the m4,It fits the brief perfectly, plus its available with a manual which all these e journalists keep crying about wanting.

That being said, that i8 would be quite interesting with better tires and suspension .

I don't know why you responded to my post with such a stupid and insulting comment .

It is pretty clear you have no clue what you are talking about. I have been tracking cars for 20+ years and have owned 3 generations of M3s. The F8X is the most composed on a track of all the ones I have owned. I truly loved my E92, that S65 is really something special, but overall, the F8X is a better car for me. If that makes me a prat, then so be it .

You bet ya, I was thinking about it today powering on to the HWY and working my way across all lanes. Whatever is said about this engine in terms of sound, being based on the N55, only 3 liters, not being built in a dedicated M factory etc. are all true but in the end it's such a fabulously responsive stonking engine that just muscles it's way into your heart. I really do love this turbo engine, it's rather spectacular.

gmd2003, did you listen to where in the powerband the M4 real in the i8 the hardest

So Sutcliff thinks it's more fun driving the i8 to it's absolute limit than to leasurely cruise behind it in the M4? He should overtake it and see if it's still less fun

Exactly.

Just like he says at around 4:10 "I'm having to drive the M4 really, pretty hard to stay with the i8..." and then at around 5:05 he says "It's really interesting... I'm kinda sitting here, not having to do that much in the M4, watching the i8, almost 2CV-like as it lurches through corners..."

So which is it Steve? Are you having to drive hard... Or not? I'm guessing no, you're not, and when you say at 5:30 that "Whoever is in the i8 is having more fun" why don't you actually try passing the slower car and have a little more fun, instead of being held up by it. That's a novel idea, wouldn't you say?

It really has nothing to do with the fact that he has negative things to say, at least with me anyway. It has to do with things like I've stated above. First he's having to drive hard to keep up, then he's not. The fact that he says "It does feel heavy. It just feels too heavy for a car to have an ///M badge on it..." After saying in his initial M3 review "You can definitely detect that there is less weight to carry in the new M3... And that's a great thing... Because that just spreads throughout the whole of the rest of the car's dynamics." Ummm, so does it feel heavy or does it feel light? In the Alpina D3 vs. M3 comparison, he used launch control in a drag race in the Alpina and didn't use it on the M3... After saying "In both cars we turned the traction control off, and simply left them in drive, and nailed it." And then said "The D3 got off the line better... Thanks to it's softer suspension perhaps."... Or maybe Steve, it's just because you used launch control. These are the type of things that make me question his credibility.

If you give a negative review of a car, but at least seem to back it up with decent points and not seem to have a preconceived dislike for the car before you get in it, there's nothing wrong with that, and I, and I'm sure many other people would accept it. But he doesn't back it up, is wishy-washy on more than one aspect of the car, as I have shown, and after his first review of the F8X has seemed to find every opportunity to show his dislike for the car.
