After having owned a V1 over 10 years ago, I’ve gotta say, the Radenso Pro M is TINY in comparison. The pictures don’t do it justice to how compact and discrete its design really is.

Is anyone using an installed radar detector / laser jammer like the Radenso RC M or Escort Max Ci platform?

Do these really work?

Will any of the new M5's equipment such as active cruise control interfere with them by causing false alarms or otherwise adversely affect their performance?

Can these be cleanly installed in a new optioned out M5 Competition?

I have no issues with it. Using the Escort 9500ci with front mounted sensors.

As to auto mute on the V1, you might try the V1 Driver app....worth the $10 and it auto mutes and auto snoozes well. Still get those damn Acura/Honda BSM false alerts but better. Don't need Savvy with it. I wonder which detector has figured out stopping the BSM alerts, if any?
I have the VT driver app and the bluetooth dongle. LOL. Did not know it had an auto mute setting? Will look into it.

Does Gesture Control on the M5 make it go crazy like it does the V1? Same question for R3 pls.

I am very interested in your and others reviews of the Radenso Pro M vs Escort Max 360c.

How long have you been using it? Have you used any other detectors you can compare it to?

How is range and sensitivity on highway?

Are you happy in city performance?

The BSM false alerts in city are bad on my V1, even with the V1 Driver app. I was going to wait on the R7 but am hearing the BSM false alerts will not be improved over the R3. Thanks for your input.

Having a V1 in year's past, I can tell you that the Radenso Pro M is a significant improvement in many ways. Literally the only thing I miss on the V1 are the arrows. I feel the Radenso has it beat in every other way. This radar is QUIET. The false alerts are very minimal. Also, the V1 in hindsight feels clunky compared to the compact size of the Pro M. I do a ton of city driving, but when I went out on the highway this past weekend, it picked up a cop on Ka band on the side of the road and I swear it was over a half mile away before I even spotted him.

Is the Valentine V1 not recommended for this vehicle? I had one in my E46 M3 which worked well but not sure if there's anything better out there for our vehicle.

I have used a V1 for over 10 years. Overall it was OK but I have never liked the amount of BSM alarms I get from Hondas/Accuras/etc. I purchased wifi dongle and the V1 Driver app and it is better but I get the impression that there should have been a V2 by now that does not depend on an app to be an improvement.

I am not ready to put the V1 on Ebay but starting to look around as I am tired of the falses. Also, the V1 was a bit bitchy about Gesture Control in my M5, had to put electrical tape over it to get V1 to STFU. The Radenso Pro M sounds like its great as does the Escort 360c as does the yet to be released R7 but those last two are $600.

I've had the Radenso Pro-M for about 2 months after using an Escort 360 for a couple of years.

This radar is really good right out of the box ... range and sensitivity are outstanding both in the city and on highways. I recently drove about 3 hours each way to pick up a car for my son and the radar was quiet and picked up 5 LEO's from very far away. I love what this radar does with the BSM falses ... they're virtually non-existent and the radar really does a great job of picking up "Real" alerts.

The design is very small and compact. I have it mirror tapped and on a Blendmount and it sits very discretely in the cockpit.

No disrespect to those that own the Escort 360 but it drove me crazy with the falses, was very large and Escort is extremely slow to release firmware updates to address performance issues.

I will gladly give up having arrows for a radar that does this kind of job.

Lastly, the amber display goes very well w/ BMW interior lighting.

I hope this helps.

Thanks for that info.

I updated my 360 a few weeks ago and the new firmware drastically reduced the false positives. It's still a huge unit though, with a lot more cabin presence than I like or think should be necessary.

One day I'll upgrade to a system that installs inside of the mirror itself. Until then I guess I'll suffer through the 360. In it's defense, it never misses a trap so at least there is that.

Glad to hear they worked out some of the issues with BSM! One of the initial firmware updates Escort pushed out was a mess; it actually reduced K Band sensitivity to detect less BSM ... that one was the straw that broke the camel's back.

Yeah I heard the early Escort 360 firmware versions had issues.....but for sure the 2018 updates made the 360 run excellent(been running Escort from the days of the 9500ix which I run in the Rover).......the big win is I am running the Escort ZW5 wireless laser jammer that displays the alerts on the 360 display and its a quick install with no passing wires through the firewall....so pulls out in 10mins when you sell the car...plus the escort live app alerts of cops way ahead and the arrows make it worthwhile....I cant compare it to the Radenso Pro M ....never used or researched it

Very thankful this thread exists. My V1 was going nuts right when I got in my new m to drive it home. I ended up unplugging it and just using waze. Seems like taping the rear sensor turning off gesture control resetting with Bluetooth app and then keeping your fingers crossed is the only way to run the v1 in the m5!

Seriously considering selling (2nd v1 in 15 yrs) and moving to another unit. Radenso looks to be the front runner.

IMHO if 9500Ci concealed lates titerarion isn't an option for cost, then Uniden R3 will be my pick,

Good luck

Owned both Radenso and 360 and would choose Radenso Pro-M hands down.
