What radar detector are you guys liking for this car?

Have used a Valentine 1 for probably 7 years. No tickets. Hooked it up in my M5 Comp and holy shit it went crazy. Turned out to be the gesture control. Turning it off did nothing. Black electrical tape solved problem tho (thanks poster here). However even with Bluetooth dongle and V1 Driver app, which is much better, not sure about V1 just yet. Have a Blendmount on order for V1 but wondering....V1 or R3 or ?....what detector is best for M5 per this forum? TIA.

Currently using an R3 with blendmount harwired and i love it, great range but hondas drives it nuts .... patiently waiting on the Uniden R7

I bought valentine 1 and returned it quick way too many false alerts......been running escort 360 with arrows and gps false alert blocking.....paired with escort zw5 laser jammer

Uniden R3. Was a long time V1 user, but I just sold it on ebay. When programmed correctly, the R3 has very few false alarms. Can't wait for the R7.

Escort Max 360 hardwired with a blend mount.

I would love to have the one that can be installed into the mirror itself but this works well and looks OK.

Pretty sure there is a Uniden R7 in my future. However living with the V1 with V1 Driver app is getting better as it learns false alerts. The Honda/Accura BSM (Blind Spot Monitor) falses are still maddening tho. Wonder if the R7 will fix that. Do mainly City driving and hearing the Rodenso may be best for that but waiting on tests of R7.

Just picked up a Radenso Pro-M last week, been waiting on the mirror tap to arrive. Heard nothing but positive reviews so we shall see.

Luckily it came with the car when I got it. Works great but if it isn't installed right the GPS will constantly drop. Also would recommend getting the rear sensors as well since the F90 hits 100 like nothing

For anyone in the market I will say that the Escort Max 360 works extremely well. I am alerted to radar here in NJ/NY on a daily basis.
I don't have a lot of personal experience with any other system but based on detection ability I would recommend this unit to anyone.

That said, I wish it was smaller. The blend mount helps but it is not exactly inconspicuous.

I have my V1 mounted with the bluetooth dongle glued to the side of it with a custom wire harness, then plugged in with mirror tap. The Gesture control is of more use than LASER detection, so I turned it off on the V1. The iPhone app is useful, but I miss the use of the Savvy adapter with auto mute. On these cars you cannot leave anything plugged into the diagnostic port or the alarm goes off.

Yea I went through something similar. I would rather not lose the excellent laser detection of the V1 so decided to cut off gesture control as only time I tried it it almost blew out my ears... Cutting off gesture control did not help cuz V1 still went crazy so ended up covering that area with a piece of electrical tape and it worked.

As to auto mute on the V1, you might try the V1 Driver app....worth the $10 and it auto mutes and auto snoozes well. Still get those damn Acura/Honda BSM false alerts but better. Don't need Savvy with it. I wonder which detector has figured out stopping the BSM alerts, if any?
