MPH in HUD turns red when exceeding speed limit

Does anyone know if we have that feature in our car? I’ve seen it on other 5 series loaners...

On the speedometer, you get a red hue on the needle when you go above the speed limit and it trails back to the indicated speed limit. I really like the fact that it is very "non-intrusive" but the information is there.

You may actually see the effect that you are referring to if you set a speed limit in the i-drive settings. I have not tried that because mine would be red all the time...

In the 5 series loaner cars that had the posted speed limit displayed onto the Heads Up Display and you exceeded the posted limit, your MPH on the HUD would turn red. I haven’t driven my M5 in awhile, but I could swear I configured this on my car but it never worked.

I set mine to go off at 90 mph. I must have hit that fucker 50 times on my way to and from Canada. Like Homer Simpson saying DOH every time.

No. This is not available in the M5 or M5C.

It’s a nice feature, if you can get it.

Why? Would be red 99% of driving time. I also disabled the red ring in speedo.
