I agree. The handling on the Competition is just so different. The ride may be slightly harsher over the occasional expansion joint but that is a trade I will gladly make for the instant on handling. Feels like a much smaller car with a monster under the hood.
Instant on handling is a good way to put it.
I let my girlfriend drive it yesterday and she could not believe it was only 1 foot shorter than the Tahoe we just had in Aspen for a week. The car simply feels extremely nimble and responsive, and much smaller than it actually is.

I'm still shocked every day by the handling difference between the M5C and my old F10 550 m-sport. Night and day is an understatement.

But how often are you going to need /see this extra sharp precision handling that the Comp offers, by all accounts it is only noticeable at extreme speeds or on a track

Personally prefer the extra comfort that I can appreciate every time I jump in the car

I'm no racing expert but after driving 2 none comps then the comp the only difference between them that I found was the harder ride, even on motorway I found myself bouncing about in sport

From a looks stance I have already had added before collection the full external carbon kit along with black badge and carbon pro spoiler

I though am always in the minority when it comes to Comp, I sold my standard M4 to a mate bought a M4 CP didn't like the much harder ride so bought my M4 back off my mate most of my friends from the UK M community including Simon on here would only ever go Comp

Differents in mechanical parts:

Steering: no differents (only soft)

Front susp.: only springs

Rear susp.: springs, Additional shock absorbers, shock absorbers, Stabilizer, Steering arms with rubber bushing

Exhaust: cat-back system (you can order it with regular M5)

Engine: Engine mount

If i'm wrong, please correct me.

Different tune on the car .. essentially a simple swap of the exhaust to the Sport Version will not yield the same exhaust note characteristics w/o the tune. Some additional hp as well.

Buy whatever makes you happy and suites your driving style .. no right or wrong answer here. M5C is more raw and visceral IMO and a true driver's car w/ it's tuned suspension. If you want a more toned-down car and want the more luxurious suspension feel a Base M5's is the way to go.

I prefer a suspension that provides constant feedback and I'm fine with the ride quality; again this is not for everyone but it works for me.

Camber of the front wheels is increased, making turn in sharper.

You will notice the difference in steering immediately. You will also notice the difference in suspension. Put together, it will feel like a very different car.

Some will prefer the base model, some will prefer the competition. In my opinion, everyone that buys an M5 should drive both before deciding which is best for them.

Every change that is not cosmetic affects the handling and ultimately the overall driving feel.

Yep I drove both, there was nothing in the steering feel that jumped out at me just the difference in suspension

Cool that you were able to test both and choose which felt best to you. IMO, everyone who seriously intends to purchase should drive both because it's all very subjective and there is no right answer.

For that matter, I would also drive other models as well as other brands. Test drives of virtually any car are available practically everywhere! Nothing beats first hand experience.

Would KW HAS take care of height as good?

What am I missing ?

Thanks
Well, you've obviously missed the most important difference:

Indeed. I've mocked one up and would be happy to print it out for folks but you'll have to supply the glue.

Unsettling thoughts

I drove the beast M5 (I don’t like calling it a regular M5) and the ride was not too bad considering I was driving the run flat m550i at that time.
On the m5c The black rear diffuser looked stunning when I looked at the car for the first time at the dealership. The decision to end up buying the M5C was a quick Afternoon thought and decision, briefly test drove and purchased it. I got a very good deal as well. When I saw the M5C review I got excited about the comments having purchased a “super car”, but I do sometimes get these unsettling thoughts...whether I should have gotten the M5 instead of the M5C for perhaps the daily driving comfort. Don’t get me wrong, I love the car, cornering feels solid and all but there are times driving in Dallas roads make me overthink perhaps...
Can someone just tell me that I made the right decision!!! I guess it is natural to have second thoughts when you feel like you have choices...perhaps I answered my own question/dilemma.

Sorry about the rant!

Arrange a test drive of a base model. Then you will know for sure.

I have seen the same review and I actually like that he said that ! It made me happy with my choice going with the standard M5 and I also love that I have the M Sport exhaust which is a world of difference from the standard one.

I'll elaborate this one last time
M5C =Hard core sports car feel, not ideal for Touring but comfortable nevertheless-smooth roads are Heaven, rough ones, hell.
M5 = Suspension tuned for comfort and everyday drivability.
Nice assessment and testament to why I have the standard M5. It's a DD in all types of weather and miserable road conditions in NYC metro!
If it was going to be a "toy", I would've gone for the comp.
