M5 to appear on The Grand Tour

Saw the first episode of The Grand Tour's new series tonight and the montage of upcoming reviews shows an M5 vs an Alpina B5 Biturbo. Looking forward to that one!

Thanks for the heads-up jhbodle! When my kids kept bugging me to get Amazon - so they could see Grand Tour (big Top Gear.0 fans) - I have been anticipating this review ever since. No doubt, Clarkson will complain that the M5 is as big as the Queen Mary (or a seven series), too may menus, too comfortable, too quiet, blah, blah.... then hopefully pronounce all that is mere bourgeois distraction, for bmw has returned to form with giddy enthusiasm. Steering feedback though is a bit like an outhouse without toilet paper.... leaves you wanting despite being relieved. I hereby prophesize something like that!

Clarkson reviewed the Alpina B5 in the Sunday Times a little while ago and gave it pretty good reviews (although he acknowledged it isn't all that different from the standard 5 series saloon on many features). In one of his last comments on the article he says he expects the M5 to be epic. So take that for what it's worth.

I just hope James May isn't the one doing the M5 review during the show.

Just to let you know that there will also be an M5 featured in the new series of Top Gear as well. They filmed an M5 for the last series but it never made it in, so I guess they have saved it for this series

I noticed on last week’s episode there was a M5 lap time for their Eboladrone track...I believe it was somewhere around 15th place...I’m assuming that is a F10. Anyone know for sure?

On a separate note, their new lap driver is much easier on the eyes than any of the previous ones!!

Yep, the one on the board is the F10, they took it around the track before season 1 along with the M3 to put some benchmark times on the board.
