Consumer Reports
Tesla is taking the brunt of the bad PR from this, but I noticed that the 5 series has also fallen afoul of Consumer Reports.
Any idea why, and if the M5 is also affected by the issues? https://www.cnn.com/business/live-ne...56bbd6caa8aa4f |

Sounds like these issues would also affect the M5. My keyless entry is occasionally wonky. Might be something a software update could fix? |

Interesting, because J.D. Power just called the 5 series best in class (Midsize Premium Car).

It's interesting to note that the complaints mentioned in the CR comments about BMW 5 series could, in large part, be due to operator error or misunderstanding (of what can be rather complex information systems that require education to operate). And they aren't mechanical issues, which I would be much more concerned about.

My biggest gripe, is the seat position most of the time, is not how i stored it. It's the headrest that's always the issue. I like it tilted far forward and saved it like that for both memories w/ both keys, yet most of the time I am tilting it back forward.
Small price to pay for an amazing car though! |

This... Especially in reverse, I've given myself whiplash a couple of times already from the car safety features stopping me from heading into driveway / garage... My driveway and garage are empty lol...

I’d say the handful of issues most have had with the M5 thus far makes it less reliable than average. Great car, but I have needed 3 repairs since last May (5500 miles).

Well that is unfortunate as I am looking to get one. I think this applies to the German auto industry as a whole, they've had to find ways to keep pace with Japanese and American pricing and I think it has put pressure to cut some corners and get to market faster but that's just a guess.
