A meet sounds good.
We can do the work at my house if you guys want. Doesn't matter to me where we do it. I live in Fairfax near Fair Oaks Mall. I'll let you guys know when my car comes in and we can schedule something there. Anyone else want to install their alarm?

I'm down, I work right across the street from Tischer, so I can pick up an alarm anytime.
But, we still need to get it programmed at the dealer, right?

The plan is to install it ourselves and have some dealer program the rest. This way the dealer can only charge for programming the alarm install of physical installation. I plan to getting mine programmed at Tischer based on other members comments about this.

Yeah, let's do it at PSI's house. When is your car being delivered?
The jack block adapter needs a 3" diameter pad to rest on top of though. |

I can also do PROcede installations for anyone that needs it. I got the procedure down to 25-30 minutes and have an OBD2 scanner as well.

My car should be here next week or the following week. Suppose to be unloaded off of the ship in NJ tomorrow.
I also have the jack adapter. I have the sears craftsman jack with the 3" pad rest. Fits perfectly.

I also can offer up the use of my jack adaptor...unfortunately that's all I can offer, my DIY skills are notoriously lacking
But iatacs19 and I make good spectators. Comic relief is complimentary

in the meanwhile, perhaps someone can work on GB pricing for alarm activation...start tapping your SA contacts/networks.

I got mine from Tischer BMW, online. $230 shipped. Not the best price but pretty good. Also I figure if I take it their for alarm actiivation, they can't give me any crap because I bought the unit from them. Also if any parts are bad then replacement can be easy.
Not sure how much they are going for on Ebay?

My SA is going to program the alarm for me for free. Shweeeeet! I blackmailed him into doing me a favor in exchange for straight "5s" on the satisfaction survey.
Kidding. I went through a bad experience that he had no control over. He felt bad about it and is helping me out When can we do this group install? I'd like to do it this weekend if possible. |

I got the alarm but no car yet.
Sitting at the VPC in NJ. You guys can do a group install without me if you like. I'm probably looking at more like next weekend.

Yes yes...but as you know ...as a man the first order of business upon receiving the alarm would be to burn the instructions. Thus the "messing around" installing it. You know how it goes.
Remember, we men do not ask for directions, we never read instructions and we always need a magazine in the bathroom. |

If you're doing PCD on a new car might want to think about it factory install. The car alarm/installation total is ~$360. Pretty similar to what's out there now, but I think you get the added benefit of convenience.

Let me know when you guys are doing the group install.
Depending on the date, I can come and lend a hand.
