Evolve ECU Tune Flash Stage 1 !!

Just curious, anyone tried it yet? Not very far from RC or JB4 Piggies, so why bother? Besides the speed limiter

Thanks

The removal of the speed limiters and dialed up pops and bangs are the main advantage. But, yeah, there's little reason beyond that to risk detection when both the RC and the JB4 are yielding similar results.

I appreciate that he focuses on the relative power difference as opposed to harping on about the absolute numbers that vary from dyno to dyno.

I'm booked in on April 19th for a couple of hours on a hub dyno so I'll post my numbers once I have them.

Well, there is English and there is English! It is actually bit to understand all the words of the video even though the host is well-spoken; I had to play the video several times.

A few observations/questions:

1. So he is saying that the stock M5 makes 625rwhp? This is a bit hard to believe given modern production tolerances, OEM SAE Certified HP, etc. He is essentially saying that the car makes more rearwheel horsepower stock than its stated crank horsepower. From many different perspectives this makes no sense.

2. Did he say that they have not yet verified elimination of the top speed limiter on the computer?

3. Can this to be uninstalled and reinstalled by simply looking up your laptop?

4. If your car has been run with this tune and you uninstall it, will a dealer still be able to tell that the car has been tuned in the past? For example, if a drivetrain problem occurred on the car while the tune was in the car, would the hardware and software on the car accessible to dealer show that the issue occurred while the tune was installed even though the tune is no longer installed?

That about covers it for now!

Garage List
1) there are MANY dyno runs showing WHP in that range. Mostly DynoJets, but its not at all out of the range of what's being seen.

Oh, I had no issue understanding him at all... but then I was born about 30 miles away from his company which I suppose might help.

No, I don't believe so. I'm fairly certain he's computing crank numbers; reducing the information to lowest common denominator to make it comprehensible to the masses.

Evolve already removed two top-speed limiters but they hit another around 190mph that he's referring to.

Yes, but that doesn't equate to "the tune is not detectable."

If they want to, they can. This is an absolute reality.

The legend on the plot he shows reads "Flywheel torque" and "Flywheel power".

Hi Imran,
Will this tune be ok with the dreaded OPF cars ?. This looks very strong for a standard car ?. Would this overwrite the BMW tune on Competition cars, and remove the more pronounced burbles and grumbles that car has, or is there still plenty of that going on ?, thankyou, regards, Simon.

You saved me a lot of typing.

I can move to the US and Americanise my English if that helps.

Unfortunately Imran,
That comment wasn't about your English which is actually great and very eloquent! But it was rather about what you and me know all too well!

Yes the tune is ok for OPF cars. Our car makes between 610-630 depending on the conditions.

We would use the stock CP software as the base so burbles would remain the same.
