Akra cold start question/issue

This one is a cold-start in Sport+ mode. Audio cuts off for a split second when it connected to CarPlay.

For some reason I can’t figure out why it starts with valves open, then closes the valves briefly before reopening... if anyone has an idea why it’s doing that I’d love to hear.

Same thing happens to me, car starts with valves open at cold start and than valves close.
I am too lazy to take it back to dealer to find out why.
Please let me know once you find out.
Would be great to have cold start with valves staying open.

Try setting your M1 or M2 instead of just putting it to Sport+ Mode and see what happens?

I have the same exhaust and i always start my car with the M2 button😜

Hope this helps.

Yes this issue is in Sport+ mode only.

I set my M1 and M2 buttons to have the engine in Sport+ mode. So before this start-up, I engage M1 which makes the settings:
  • Engine - Sport+
  • Chassis - Comfort
  • Steering - Comfort
  • Transmission - S3

You have an Akra exhaust too if I remember correctly? At least this isn't just me, but rather a consistent issue.

It may have done this before with the OEM exhaust, but just wasn't as noticeable since it wasn't as loud.

When I start up with the engine in Comfort mode, the first two sounds you hear are what I get (valves open initially and then close quickly and stay closed.

Could be the car is running a check on the valve connection.

Possibly so. Not sure what that module that comes with it was, but I wonder if that has anything to do with it? It's not the optional sound kit I'm talking about, but there's a little black box module that plugs in on the right side in the trunk area.

Oh, Akra add another module?
In that case then it could be Akra's module itself that is doing the check.
Because all the Remus that I've installed, it uses the original Valve controller and connection.

Ok, just read the installation instruction for Akra.
Since you have that Sound Module, what you are experiencing is normal.
The Sound Module is intercepting the original signal from the car.
So, what controlling the flap is the sound module, not the car anymore.

Makes scene
I guess its the European noise laws, and the sound module automatically quiets the car.

Just saw it too after noticing it’s available to read on their website. So first thing, I have the “Control Kit” installed, but no sound module. The sound module/kit is the extra $500ish option. Wondering, is this control kit that’s installed is truly necessary? Can’t figure out what it would be doing that couldn’t be done without it?

The control Kit gives you different sound levels with your setting.
Comfort, sport, sport plus. So each level up gives you more noise.
Second, if I am not mistaken the sound module does the same thing but can be controlled with the akro phone app and a small remote that it comes with. So waste of money, if we can do the same with our cars 3 throttle settings.
