MPH tells me all I need to know. That said - the mere fact that we are discussing this - a purpose built car versus a 16+ foot luxury four door GT car - two cars that don't even compete - and that the 16+ foot luxury GT car is both quicker and faster is astonishing.
And that the BMW Competition Package hasn't even hit the shores yet... You don't like the F90 - want to troll here - that is cool. Doesn't change these facts. EDIT: Congrats on your first two rep points. |

But the e63 seems to be quicker, and with these cars being so close in many areas, performance is a deciding factor.

I mean the F80 M3 holds its own vs a GTR from a roll as well.....I was dead even with my buddies stock GTR stock for stock from a roll.
And here is a slightly modded F80 vs a GTR M5 should have no issues vs a GTR |

SO depending on the R35 year - they are a worthy run versus a bone stock GTR in a roll - but on average - the new (2013+) GTR should slowly to not so slowly (2015+) walk past an F80. |

Especially a 2017 - with 565 HP - is about 16 lbs of boost stock. it traps mid 120's.
It's just math - a stock F80 is not beating the new GTR in a roll - maybe driver error in regards to RPM/gear choice/bad fuel - but not due to the car. They are terrible in a roll - but not terrible enough to lose to a car 7 MPH on average slower. If both are bone stock. Last edited by vtknight; 05-30-2018 at 09:18 AM.. |

I am fully aware, and what I go by, that trap speed is the best representation of a cars performance, but we don't live in a vacuum so a lot of variables can cause one car to pull ahead even when it technically shouldn't. Similar to why the results of AMG vs M5 flip flop, the cars are VERY close in performance and at the end of the day real world variables is what will cause one to pull ahead or not. The new M5 traps 129ish MPH vs the GTR 125ish, so on paper yes it should win. |

And the M3/4 performance level is not that close to the GTR - so it should not be close. Steady pull for a 17. That said - I don't personally care as this is a stock vs stock discussion. |
