Took me a day to figure that out as well... lol
Then it started happening right away again because I had made a profile based on one of the keys I guess so it didn't save my setting that I previously made and was still happening. Tech is pretty good on the car but it's like switching from iphone to android or vise versa. You just gotta spend a lot of time messing with it before you know it like your old one.

So since you are pretty tech savvy, do you use Waze? When I fire up Apple CarPlay and use Waze over bluetooth, it will not give audible alerts unless I program in a destination. If a cop is close, no alert. Have settings in Waze set to give audlble alerts but no deal. Don't remember it being silent in last car but had to use a USB in that car. Strange. |

For most things I use Googlemaps because it works so well with my phone. I just say "hey google, take me to Disneyland" and bam. I'm on my way while it gives me directions and plays spotify. I have yet to try Waze on my car yet.

I got it to work by using an app called Castto. Works while driving but I have also enabled video in motion so not sure if that's why. |

All you have to do is press the radio on/off switch for 2 secs, and it shuts the car down properly after switching ignition off.

Do you press the start-stop button? I found that the car was turning off for me due to the start-stop - if you leave it turned off this way and open the door the radio stays on. If you pull to a stop, even if the engine is off press the start-stop button it will then turn the radio off when you open the door.

It's been a while since I've driven my M5 but I want to say if you turn the car off and open the door within 5 seconds (or something like that) the radio stays on until you lock the doors but if you turn the vehicle off wait 5 seconds and then open the door radio turns off immediately. I could be wrong and thinking of my other car lol

For me, turning the ignition off while my foot is *off* the brake pedal will cause the radio to turn off. If I turn off the ignition while my foot is still on the brake, then the radio stays on until I lock the doors.
