If the damage occurred during transport why didn't the port or dealership fix/replace the splitter?
I own a logistics company with car haulers and I can say that yeah sure sometimes we might scratch cars without noticing but 100% of the time it's only been SUVs or regular sedans that look like they have a lot of clearance but actually don't, it has never been any low car because for those specifically we make sure they have no way of getting scraped, specially not a super rare car like this, but we always end up spotting the scratches when unloading the car at the destination, so the fact that it "got past" the carriers that are most likely specifically instructed to be careful with scraping the bumper, and the fact that it also "got past" the dealership on their arrival from carrier inspection, and I'm guessing the car also got a pre delivery to costumer prep/inspection and they still didn't notice is very suspicious to me, And the fact that the seller would try to cover it up as it not being him who actually did it is making me wonder if it actually has any other issues
The M5 CS seemed to be transported with other BMWs; there was a post with pictures of one getting unloaded recently. I do agree that the port would have fixed any transport related damage.
The owner is a forum member. He shipped it used from Germany, so I doubt this went the same exact way as BMW normally does if that makes sense. Just guessing.

Here's a recent delivery… I don't think these cars get special treatment.

That's actually the "special treatment" for the low end shipping😂
The "most important" cars always go at the tail because it has the least risk of damage, usually if it's this "important" it would be on the top of the tail not the bottom but each company and driver is different, but I still don't really understand why people don't instead pay for enclosed trailer shipping for these since it's only about 50% more on average

I'm not sure you can intercept and change the delivery to a dealership form the port. I have never heard of that at least. Is there an option to request that somewhere along the line?

Pcars auction just closed! The Deep Frozen Green one with the signed picture closed at $179,000 but did not sell (Edit to correct the outcome). Lots of last minute bids that kept extending it. I feel like a dork for finding this so entertaining to watch. I was thinking that would go over 180k. Not sure what the reserve was guessing maybe 200k or close to it given the buy it now price.

Fair value for an M5 CS at this point is about $175k based on these auctions and the bulk of recent new sales. Prospective buyers keep that in mind for the last wave, maybe be careful to pay "only" $170k max as there are more than 50% of the cars (supposedly) still to land.

I'm not sure on how to since I just recently ordered my bmw m5, but I've seen a couple of requests this year for bmws at port that are enclosed trailer required, so I'm guessing that there's a way if you contact someone at bmw they should be able to get your car in a secure enclosed trailer for an extra cost instead of an open trailer, that being said your car might be sitting at port for a bit longer since there are not that manny carriers that would take it due to the fact that they don't really pay well compared to the exotics the enclosed trailers could be hauling instead , but I'd still give it a try for an m5cs because that car is just too special to be transported regularly

If it were listed on BaT, I bet it would've been closer to $200k. Nevertheless, the auctions never lie. It's so great to have these so prevalent these days. I suspect they didn't list on BaT because they wouldn't let them place the reserve so high.

Strange — but look at BAT auction history.

Not a single F90

I think the reserve was at 180 given the seller's comment of saying "you guys are so close"

Not to hijack CS thread but there's an E39 for over 120k right now!

No kidding. Especially considering that most of the CS cars are likely in matte paint, which is harder to correct when damaged.

Such a beautiful and elegant design. BMW is now so far away from this design language. Makes me sad. Wish they stayed more true to their heritage. The round headlights, for example, are so iconic. Most of BMW's current design team should be fired.

You better go grab it before someone else does, if you haven't already…….

I originally spoke to Birmingham BMW about ordering one before I picked mine up from Sandy Sansing in Pensacola (I live around the corner).

I just called them again this morning (ask for Amir) and confirmed that allocation is already sold and the customer has not (yet?) backed out, and they don't have any indication that they will back out.

Can you share where you got this information that the allocation is for sale? They also have not yet taken delivery.

I asked the owner about your request for a picture of his wife. He asked me to send you a preliminary picture to whet your appetite before all is revealed to you.
