@phoenixbmwlife I thought laser lights were standard on the M5CS in the US. There was a discussion of why they are available on the CS and not Competition.

Barry, adjustments don't work with the carbon buckets. No position stops the buckle from banging against the side of bucket. Leaving it fastened sounds like the best alternative for now.

Jose, I just don't like the looks or the feel of the larger diameter wheels/tires. Heck, I'd be happier with 19" but 20" is my max.

Really depends on what it is you're looking for … performance and unsprung mass certainly bigger is not better. Aesthetically, I think 21" wheels look amazing on the F90 platform, although that is subjective. 21" wheels can be lighter than OEM so still an improvement over OEM.

21in Fi-R. Was looking for 20 in Fi-r seems they don't make it for the M5 at all which is a shame. Def not going 21s, wouldn't trust a set of 10k wheels and super low pro tires on the roads here. Also wanna keep that weight down as much as possible.

I can confirm CS production is still moving forward. My dealer (New Country BMW, Hartford CT) did lose one allocation, they are down to 2 cars, and I have a VIN for mine.

A shame with everything going on in the world that production will be limited. I hope everyone that is a true enthusiast, and not a flipper, will get to enjoy this car.

Damn, those 21's look sick …. If your roads are garbage 21's are a no-go!

I've had 21's on my last 3 M5's with no issues but the roads in Miami are very good so that's never been an issue.

Those wheels really do look nice!
The regular CS wheels are already amazing so not sure it's worth the upgrade at least to me. The 20s still fit the nicely without much gap

Pretty surprised how smooth and quiet the ride is...a little too smooth and quiet

I was referring to rotating the seat belt is that the position your referring to? Did you try it…….? definitely buckling would solve it but I hope not necessary. I'll try it next time it's her turn for a drive……

Same can be said for the M2 CS as well, exhaust is quiet, interior noise is quiet. On the other side, would you rather it be the 88db that Harry Metcalfe measured in noise inside a 992 carrera?

I wonder if the M4 CSL will be more the insane experience, just hopefully still with the ride quality you get from more expensive dampers.

This car deserves the best wheels and best exhaust. If only BBS made magnesium wheels that would fit. Next best wheel option is the FIR but will require spacers (which I'm not thrilled about). I'm kinda partial to BBS but maybe I'll consider forged HREs.
HRE doesn't do custom finishes, only those listed on their site. I bet one of the champagne finishes will be a close match.

Akra exhaust on order.

I'm liking the BCforged wheelsies. Did some ghetto photoshop on my phone just to see some of the wheels to replace the 20s…with 20s.

The tightest part of these seats are the upper bolsters that touch your mid-to upper-back area. They are very tight and I do wish they were adjustable. The added thickness from my sweater and wrap made it way too tight. I cannot wear a thick sweater or jacket when driving this car.

These seats are a joy, fit me like a glove. I could easily daily drive this car even with the buckets. I'm so used to 991 GT buckets and can tell you these are more comfortable. Also, the higher car height of the M5 versus 911 makes getting in and out so much easier.

It's been raining in CT for like a week now and I haven't got to drive lately but just came back from the garage after prepping wheels for ceramic coating. I'm so enamored by these wheels (even though they weigh a ton and they're not black or silver lol) and how they look with the gold calipers. The combo somehow elevates their look. And the dark matte green just takes it all to another level. Very strange as I'm obsessive about having only the most subtle color combinations on my cars. (To the point where I can't even tolerate yellow Porsche calipers on my cars.) It'll be a good study to see how long before I tyre of all these colors. Had a green (BRG) Speedster and sold it after a few months after getting sick of the color. Hated the way it looked in direct sunlight. Loved it in every other lighting condition.

Pretty sure I posted this pic already but I know many of you will find it interesting to know the weight (front wheel) and also know they are manufactured for BMW by Fuchs. Happy New Year to all.
I did my first somewhat long drive yesterday. 1 hour and the seats are very comfortable the whole way. One thing I must say is if you adjust the seat to fit you better it's more comfortable. Everyone should take 5 minutes to play with the adjustments a bit to find the best fit.
Good to know. If mine ever clears the port and I can pick it up.. I'll be spending a nice 6.5 hours with the car on day one. I'll be able to give a legit report on seat comfort pretty quick. 😀
Are you waiting on the RAM retrofit? Which port, if you don't mind me asking.

TY
Yes @ RAM. I believe Charlestown, SC. It's been there not quite 2 weeks.. so it seems I could have quite a while to go. 🤷
Same … been sitting over 3 weeks at this point for RAM at Port of Baltimore.
Mine has been waiting carrier pick up for 2 weeks. Seems weird. Anyone else have this issue?

Several folks have reported this and have attributed it to driver shortages.

@phoenixbmwlife I thought laser lights were standard on the M5CS in the US. There was a discussion of why they are available on the CS and not Competition.
I think this is true isn't it? I thought I had read that the M5 CS comes with laser lights but the laser part is disabled in the US market. I went back and looked at some of the pics in this thread (US cars) and you can see the headlamp says "BMW Laser" on it. Eg check out the last pic in the second post of pics from Doctor_X on page 2.

I would assume they all have laser lights if anyone else can confirm. If it's all there and "disabled" does that mean it can be coded on or is it neutered some other way?

Lol I didn't even notice it. I thought US cars didn't come with it as I looked for the yellow triangle before and didn't find it. But Day Laborer pointed it out to me couple days ago and I looked again and it magically presented itself to me That's the picture I snapped above.

Kinda like when you read a book for the second time and find something in it that you didn't notice the first time lol

My order has been stuck on Assembly in Progress since before Christmas. Anybody know how long it typically spends in this status?

My build from production start to delivered took 8 months. Some people way faster, others still waiting. No one can really give you a good estimate because everyone's build finishing different stages at different times, and nothing is running on regular schedules right now. We all just have to wait.

Edit: On checking it was 8 months from Order received till delivery. From production started to delivery it was roughly about 7.5 months for me.

Afternoon, trying to get a read on port installed options - I believe someone mentioned Z3R are nice.

I believe the CS already has ZK0, the carbon fiber engine cover, or is this the additional carbon fiber kit that has been discussed.

I believe the CS already has ZK0, the carbon fiber engine cover, or is this the additional carbon fiber kit that has been discussed.

If you don't mind more delays then go for the port installs. In hind sight I would not have done port install as it delayed my delivery by another 3 weeks or so. But yeah the blades are a must imo. Those you can do after delivery.
