During a stop at the dealer this morning, I listened to the HK sound and found it short of expectations.

Most problematic was the lack of the kind of equalizer I have on my F15. The audio controls in place were very basic.

Yeah there is a full graphic EQ in iDrive.

Good to know because it was a 'genius' who went through the menu and all he found was simple left/right for treble, bass, fade, etc.

The two geniuses that have worked with us the past two purchases have been really bad. I felt as if they were actually porters/gophers/passenger on test drives, instead of doing what they actually should be doing and that teaching the client about the new vehicle they just purchased. The last guy didnt know how to set up carplay.......

Most of the so called geniuses at BMW are usually the newest salesperson at the dealer. So they aren't very knowledgeable at all.
That so called title still makes me laugh.

I picked up my X5 today and spent some time fiddling with the HK audio system, including tweaking the eq. I am pretty impressed with it, especially for the modest price increase.

I had the burmester system in my last Mercedes
and the HK is 80-90 percent of the burmester sound quality for like 25 percent of the price. The burmester may have just a little more top end sparkle and clarity (which you really cannot hear unless the car is stopped), but the HK is more balanced and the bass is better.

The young male assigned to me today is their tech guy and does not sale vehicles. I thought he had been at the dealer for at least on year.

Clearly his knowledge was sharply limited perhaps because they have sold so few G05s. Of those sold to date, I think most of the users are not tech savy.
