I met virgin boy at a cars&coffee once. He seemed like a pretty decent guy and was genuinely interested in what I do and things of that nature. But this was a couple yrs ago so before he moved to LA and became a douche. Haven't watched a single video of his in a long time.

I've been watching him forever and I enjoyed this one because Doug was truly stoked about the car. He's pretty ruthless on all but the best.

I was just hoping for more driving impressions I suppose. Doug seems to be liking the most recent BMWs, and I do feel some of their recent crop of cars are getting back to driving like BMWs should.

He is deservedly ruthless toward Maserati but gave Acura a huge pass with that lame NSX review. I genuinely believe he was paid off by Honda for that. The NSX is super underwhelming yet he acted dumbfounded by it's poor sales. He's also a Grade A Tesla apologist.

CNET can review a car in a few short minutes.

W/ Doug I was falling asleep in less than 20 minutes.

And, I think he's a seriously horrific stand up comic !

My biggest concern was the ZF 8 spd auto, and the quick shifting is relieving.
Vehicle Virgin?
Biggest douche bag out there!! SMH!!

It's genuinely difficult to not look like a douche in these reviews. That said- I love how extensively he covered the electronics.

Doug seems somewhat genuine. Vehicle Virgin and Shmee150, on the other hand, got a jump start off Dad's bankroll.

It agreeing with Doug score. While some are fair, he gave 5 or 6 for quality of the interior? Or like 7 for features.,..

Love Doug. Always watch his videos. Nice to have one reviewer who doesn't just focus on the drive. The quirks and features are interesting to learn about in cars I'm not necessarily familiar with. He's funny and talks quickly to keep you engaged, and I agree that he seems completely genuine. His review of older vehicles are great too - no one else really does that. His '77 Cadillac Eldorado vid was hilarious.

I had my wife watch the F90 review. She was impressed by the features (better than I can do) but kept asking why Doug had to repeat "zero to 60 in 3 seconds" so many times.

Doug - I got off to a really bad start with his content, I couldn't tell if he was just a really bad troll or an absolutely awful motoring journalist.

The first video of his I ever came across was this one

Basically to support the narrative he was going for, that being how much better the 2000 era M cars are, he essentially dismissed every modern M car as being dull and too technical and how they're so full of gadgets that you'd ruin your ownership worrying something would break! Which is such a flawed statement I don't know where to begin pulling it apart.

Whereas, he said, the old M cars are very simple and there's nothing on them which can go wrong as a result of that simplicity - which is obviously one of those things you think about when you get carried away but should never say out loud because you realise it's moronic, and not true, but he doesn't seem to have that off-switch, and went and peddled this narrative for the entire video. Like how the new M cars have foot operated parking brakes, they don't have climate control buttons, laggy infotainment operation, almost every criticism he labelled towards the new M cars to support his narrative was false - like he'd obtained his research from ill informed forum posts but it's OK to publish as it helps strengthen the point he's trying to make about the older cars.

It really really annoyed me because millions of people will buy into that nonsense, he puts out this disposable piece of content which he forgets about 2 minutes after uploading but is there now and seen by nearly a million people. Even watching it back again now, I can feel myself getting really worked up listening to him berating the new cars when I know for a fact he's beaten off over high-tech cars in other videos!

Asides from that though - I chose to forget about this and actually really enjoy the other stuff he's done! But he was properly off the mark on that old M car video.
