Congrats! Might be the current fastest time!
With the DA where does that actually put you in the 1/4: 10.5-10.6? Also how safe is it. You mentioned before you weren’t ready for jb4 due to development |

Safety is relative. Betas were going out in May. Too early for me. Then they found out that some M5”s (20 betas our), were setting a code so they added another wire to the ewg harness. And I waited. And no more comments. So I bought, installed and started doing short logs to analyze the data. Finally made an 1/8 mile hit. I’m keeping the target increase at 2psi as atmospheric conditions can effect it slightly. DME is happy. No pulled timing, no throttle closure, iat looks good, AFR looks good, etc. All on pump 93. It’s now locked down on a conservative increase like the RaceChip in my X5M (28,000 milesno issues). I’m not looking for a 6psi increase and +130mph 1/4 mile speeds. Just a nice, smooth increase. It’s probably a 40rwho and 40rwtq bump based on the dyno graph on the JB4 site. Launched correctly, it moves out. |

Makes sense! The problem that I’m having is that I’m not as experienced with logs etc. To the general population it might be a lot of work. Very exciting for the platform

Keep improving - I will remove the filters next time and use comfort mode for my suspension next time.
Next event should be very solid DA. If we get the prep - I’m hoping we will finally see a 10.8x. |

See anyone doing a different wheel or tire setup for strip? Have you considered it?

Great runs! For having a 91/94 mix - these are pretty solid ET's. The MPH is on the lower side - but still solid. I would suggest 94 octane - no mix. Was the track day just a test and tune, limited prep? The reason I ask is because the 60' for Michelins was pretty high for most of your runs. You bring it down to a low 1.7 or high 1.6x and you will see 11.0's. |

While I am here I may as well update my timeslip. It was a great track day - okay to solid prep, with an 1800ish DA (if I remember correctly).
It may be hoping for Unicorns, but I do think once we get some really nice, cooler weather (and near zero DA) I may be able to break into the 10.7x range, but I will need that air and a healthy tailwind lol. I haven't yet taken the charcoal filters yet - or touched air pressure - so I have some options to get there. I will try it with no changes first... |

The icar track has a reputation of -150 ms. It's a concrete air strip track. (wind and track prep) l try in october for Napierville. Do you think that petro canada 94 (with ethanol) is better then shell 91? My tire pressure was around 36 / 37. I read in a previous post that you don't floor gaz to activate the LC. You manage to just activate it and floor when light turn green... I got a lot of wheel spin on LC mode and the car start sliding when i launch at the green light ... My MPH is not very high too ... probably due to the non sticky strip.. (sorry for my.poor english)

The ethanol is actually very handy for FI cars (adds cooling and less detonation). Without prep on concrete - on an airstrip - your 60' will be a challenge. Finding a good track with prep and you will find much better ET and MPH. |

No track data yet so Dragy will have to suffice. These pics are from precisely one of one launches/timed runs I've done in this 2020MY M5 Comp and both numbers beat my 19 M5 after literally 100s. Conditions were pretty good, though, other than potential loss of traction from the cold but my nicely broken in Michelin PS4Ss in 295R/285F decided they didn't care about the $hit road surface or temperature. Note also I had to brake hard in the final second due to a lack of remaining road so there may well have been another 1/10th in there.
- 92 octane pump; no octane booster - tire pressure @34psi square when cold - BMC air filter + charcoal delete - JB4 on map 1 - go-faster black-wrap side skirts and intakes provided an extra -1/10th - Fisher Price paddle delete saved me an ounce or two Last edited by limeypride; 10-05-2019 at 03:45 PM.. |
