Typically your wire strippers can do this. Look in between the handles and I bet there's something there with colored dots maybe? Both of mine have this.

Exactly, same here. I'm guessing he doesn't have wire strippers.

After scrubbing all 31 pages here. Who is goto coding source for this? I want to install my euro lights this weekend and feel comfortable coding with bimmercode and protool, but if I do not know what to code, I would rather just have someone code them for me.

Coder recommendation is right in the initial post. Vick is the recommended coder, he has done lots of these.

Not quite sure how I missed that but thank you!

From what I am gathering, once they are wired correctly the only coding that should have to happen is coding out the bulb checks? Or is there more to it? I have a couple different apps to code from and have been told that ProTool will support coding them to work. I just don’t want to miss anything.

There is more to it. But yes, it can be done with ProTool. I have a few friends who successfully coded them with ProTool. I have ProTool, but it was easier and quicker for me to pay Vic. Hopefully you wouldn’t ask me this (others have), no I’m not willing to download his intellectual property and share it.

Get it done by somebody who knows what they are doing (like Vick). You won’t believe how many pm’s I had of people who failed at coding the lights…

I was directed to a coder by Abdul from Euro Motorsports, the people who sold me the tail lights. This coder had experience I was told, so I tried him. Nice guy, and was doing his best, but he hadn’t done the tail lights before and I spent about 6 hours with him over two days and he wasn’t able to get them functioning properly. When I went to Vic he was able to make them work in about half an hour. It must be fairly tricky to do.

Yeah, maybe too strong, but giving away someone’s skills of the trade. Now if I coded it myself, I would share.

I am not asking for that information. I have messaged Vic to setup a time to take care of the coding for me. I am hoping that there is a way for him to just code the lines he needs and not rewrite the entire BDC as I don’t recall everything that I have coded already.

Good call. He can do all of that. Nothing overwritten for me and I have a ton of BDC coding.

Sorry, but I've never coded, but it doesn't seem like a very complicated process. Just need to understand everything

Haven't found anyone that explained the coding process anywhere. Doesn't seem hard, just need to know what you are looking for.

Ended up going with Vik but I am still doing research on coding and proper tools to use. I'm positive I would be able to figure it out if I knew what tools coders today use.

Bimmergeeks ProTools should be able to handle the coding side of doing this retrofit.

Does anyone know what modules are coded when adding HELC to Ho-Wort?

I was hoping to be able to code this without losing all of my custom coding as I don’t remember everything I have done. If it is only BDC, then I’ll be in hood shape. I did the coding listed minus adding the HO-Wort and the lights are functional with no errors. However, when I unlock from the key, my outer tail lights do not illuminate. Also my inner tail lights flash with my turn signals. Those are the only two issues I currently have.
