Delivery time post build completion?
Hey y'all... question for those who have taken delivery of their cars recently: once your car has finished it's build and is "dispatched from factory," how long did it take from that point for you to actually get your car from the dealer?
I'm trying to gauge how much longer I have to wait. My build is in QC phase, w/ final assembly the next step. My scheduled build week was last week but my build started the week before last. |

Unfortunately, given the current environment, there are too many points of potential delay to estimate a delivery window down to a matter of days. From where your car sits, you should be at the point in 7-10 days. Then it's a question of how quickly your car gets assigned a ship and what is that ship's voyage schedule. My car arrived at the port on 1/22 and is still sitting here. Hopefully it's on one of the two ships scheduled to depart on 2/16, but it's still not assigned a ship at this point. I've heard of some cars sitting at the port for over a month. Once it gets on a ship, the trip to the US could be anywhere from 15 to 23 days depending on the voyage schedule. Once your car arrives stateside and is off-loaded at the VPC, you then may need to wait for the RAM retrofit which has on average been taking 2 to 4 weeks. Once the retrofit is done it gets assigned a carrier and transported to your dealership. Depending on how far that trip is this phase of the shipping could be 3 to 10 days.
Point being is don't drive yourself crazy trying to plan it out because you'll likely be frustrated every step of the way. Take my situation, my car arrived at the port on 1/22 and since then three ships have left that stop at Port NY and yet my car is still sitting in Bremerhaven.

For me, it was 4 weeks to port hueneme, and another 2 or 3 to get to the dealer. It seems that was pretty quick compared to others.

Thanks though, very helpful post. I'm definitely not trying to plan it out down to the day, just trying to get a general idea of how long it's taking recently. |

I think I was build week 47 or 48, car got into port I think around Dec 10th, and I took delivery on Dec 30th. Those may not be exact, but within a few days.

Mine dispatched from factory January 11,2022 and in transit on February 1, 2022. Orion Highway arrives in Baltimore February 14, 2022. Guessing rail to Tampa, FL. from Baltimore

If its in Florida it shouldn't be shipping to baltimore.... honestly if it's on the Orion highway it'll be going to brunswick GA.

micvite - you are correct Brunswick GA. not Baltimore. Per BMW Genuis: Your 2022 BMW M5 CS left the Bremerhaven Port February 1, 2022 and is estimated to arrive at the Brunswick Vehicle Processing Center February 15, 2022.

Haha I thought so lol. It just wouldn't make sense to take it to baltimore since brunswick is closer to Florida. My car finally shipped as well on Hawaiian highway estimated to get to Charleston Feb 27 or so. Hopefully no surprises like my last one I was supposed to pick up in December (they damaged it at port and I had to reoreder)

I just took delivery of my CS on Tuesday, it started production early November if I recall correctly. So, total about 16 weeks.
The dealer I got it from said if I was in the market for another M5, it would take like 6-7 months at the earliest right now. |

Guys, I know this wait stinks. I'm in the same situation, car ordered in July, not built until January, and has now been at the port for a month waiting for a ship to bring it here.
But it could be worse ... https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/art...s-save-it.html
