Did anyone upgrade their steering wheel and if so would you mind sharing some information and pictures.
Thank you.

are you looking to do alcantara?

send it to cobywheel in GA. wraps OG wheel in alcantara, does 12oclock stripe, looks sick. and much cheaper than BMW wheel. And retains heated function.

Does your car have Active Cruise control/Lane assist and heated option?? Those will all be disabled once you will go either aftermarket or OEM M Performance wheel. Hence I stayed stock, just added CF paddles and CF steering wheel trim.

I can get it done.

Here are what has been made for F97 X3M, which will fit on F90 M5 too.

Very nice wheel, but can that be done with the heat element?

Can't do it over CF, because the heat will not radiate through it. Only on leather and Alcantara.

I know, I wasn’t clear. I meant can the heat be in the 10 and 2 or 9 and 3 position, where the alcantara or leather is?

Unfortunately no, because the heating element is 1 full loop.

I am not doubting or disputing you at all.

My wife’s Lexus has an oem heated wheel. As you may know, Lexus often comes with a partial wood wheel, basically from 10-2 and 5-8 position, if I have my clock face right. There is no heat that can be felt in the top and bottom, the complete wood portion, yet it works well in the leather parts.

You are right.
But the manufacturer is not re-engineering the whole steering wheel, just rewrap it and reshape it.
It would be ideal if they can do that for me.

It can be done, but $$$$. I got a quote for my X5M, but it was over $3k.

I was debating this as well, have a heated wheel I really like so I just ended up changing the aluminum trim out to CF and put on some 3D Design paddles, helped spice it up so good enough.

Heated still works on the 9 & 3 position. Vibration/lane assist (Auto steer back into lane if swerving out) works. Only thing I couldn't transfer over was my driver assistance brain (basically BMWs auto pilot) because the company cut up the slot that was supposed to be inserted for that. Had no room with all the other wires to put it elsewhere unfortunately.

No website but if you have Instagram they're @carbonbargain. People are weary of sharing prices because it's different for everybody and since I have a 850 and not a M5/M8, my wheel core is a bit cheaper (no M1/M2 button/module for it) everything else is the same between mine and a M8 wheel. I'm giving you this reference just incase they propose a high price in case you were to ask them for a quote. I got mine with heated/lane assist, full carbon trim, carbon paddles and buttons included with led shift light screen (big regret lol) for $1800 OTD!

If you have any questions and want to talk my Instagram is @edwarjejeega. I'm very easy to reach there. Even if you would need help with the installation process, don't do what I did and spend $350. It can easily be done at home in 30 mins as long as you have the tools.

Edit: more angles
