I think I put a few screen shots earlier in this thread of it on the hauler.

All good sir, had me concerned a bit.

My 2021 M5 (PCD)

I ordered my first ever BMW, a 2021 Tanzanite Blue M5, around the middle of October for Perf Ctr delivery, and was just given a date for pickup of 2-12-21...so, either COVID has slowed things down a bit, or the color is contributing a little delay, or maybe a little bit of both...

Probably a little mix of everything. Also, it doesn't necessarily matter when you placed your order, it matters when your dealers build slot is for. I placed my order a good month or so before when my dealer told me they had a slot open. So although I got a production number right away, I waited weeks upon weeks before the vehicle got moved into the production queue.

Do you have a production number?

Mid October to February seems long but I'm not an expert. I put my order in on October 16 and I'm currently in the assembly line with a completion date of tomorrow 11/19 - probably get pushed a day unless they really hustle.

I'm told to expect it at the end of December.

According to BMW Genius, should be finished 11-23

I would think you would take delivery late December/early January, not in February.

My car left the factory yesterday - so hopefully it gets on a ship quickly. I am going to assume that they will be pushing to get these cars delivered before the end of the year so dealers can make their year end numbers especially with the difficult year it's been.

Does BMW typically offer nice year end incentives on the M5? Right now the only incentive I am aware of is owner loyalty at $750.

Usually, yes but I thought year ends started even in Nov. MF is very strong right now.

Yes, but remember I'm doing Performance Center Delivery...maybe they have reduced daily visits/deliveries to space customers out, ??

As promised.... Home safe and sound.

The color combo is unreal. I'll try getting better pictures in the light, tomorrow.

Daaaaaaaaaaaayummmm.

Were I to do it again I may have gone with Snapper. But Marina Bay is just as attention grabbing. I love the contrast of blacks and carbon with the lighter blue of Snapper Rocks.

Our cars look similar in spec except I added MPE, carbon mirrors and skirts too.

How does the extended merino leather feel? I also opted for extended over full. Does the non covered parts feel very cheap? Or acceptable?

They are good for me. It's a similar setup to the M550 I just came out of.

Would have love to go full... but have to draw the line somewhere. I don't regret extended at all.

Yeah it's not a huge difference. The tops of the doors on extended are still sensatec if I'm not mistaken, and it's slightly rougher but probably more durable than the Merino, so it could be viewed as a plus or a minus depending on your use case.

Of course, having color on the lower dash/glovebox when you have a popping shade like rccarps and I both do (Aragon) does look nice. But you don't really know it's not there unless you compare to a car that does side by side. Doesn't look at all like it's "missing" something IMO.

I went with full, but like I said, I probably would have been fine with extended too.

Here are a few more pictures from this morning.

A couple issues I have found already, that you all should be aware of during pickups.

- The M logo on the front grill is partially a sticker and is peeling up. Showed it to the dealer during p/u and they are going to replace.
- 360 view on my car is not centered correctly. Car is noticeably shifted to the right. See picture below. I assume this is an easy software fix.
- High beams seem to be misaligned with the low beams. Noticed when driving home from dinner last night. When the high beams come on, there is a noticeable gap between the high and low beams, leaving a dark non-illuminated strip. Runs the width of the beams. Even my wife said something about it the moment they came on. Hoping this is an easy adjustment by bringing the high beams down. Will try to get a picture of it, tonight.

Yikes - no bueno on initial quality! I have noticed one issue with mine but it’s none that you mentioned. My side mirror on the passenger side is whistling at speed. I suspect the BMW performance carbon mirror cap wasn’t installed correctly and will be inspecting it today.
