Anyone have an idea if BMW is staying on schedule or if there are any delays? I show my M5 conf. Prod: 2021/10/40 which I believe puts it at first week of October. Also curious what has been experienced for shipping times this year due to port congestion and world wide shipping issues.

I have an X5 M50I with the same production date as well which wont be affected by the same shipping issues. I thought I had read that the conf. prod is the completion and it should go into production a few weeks prior. Is that correct or is it actually the start of production?

I think there are delays at almost every step seems like. Mine made it through production and shipping fairly quickly, but has been stuck at port for a month now. It's literally about 5 hours away from me, but something is holding it up. Stop sale, backup camera, CF parts, Hurricanes, who knows.

I was at week 37 initially, then 38, then 39. My order switched back to Order Received over the past few days. Things are tough all over. I also placed an order for CT5 Blackwing back in March and it still hasn't been accepted yet.

I've had a Prod # since early June with the status going back and forth between Order Received and Scheduled for Production.

As others have said, be prepared to wait.

Well at least none of us are alone. It will be a waiting game but the question really is a matter of how long. Not surprising to hear delays at the port either. Shipping has been pretty crazy this year. I am fully expecting a 4-6 weeks delays there as well.

So apparently BMW no longer allows you to change individual colors once the order has been submitted by the dealership. My order status is at 102 and the dealership is not allowing any changes to be made. Just a heads up to anyone with future orders.

So if a dealership has specced a car thats at Status 111, if you take over that allocation you're not allowed to change anything? Or you can still change it but not add individual options?

Incorrect, it's production begins status whatever the number is that locks it in, now IF you have ANY individual options such as color interior or even piano black trim it locks it when the dealer fully submits the order. Even if it's serial "individual" stuff like how tartufo was for a 2022 it still locks in.
