What is the normal wait time right now on builds?
Anyone?

Yeah, but do you have Bowers and Wilkins or something specific (Individual color) holding that up?

Production # since June 12th .. car has not started production yet although it appears it will start Week 45.
The Build is Individual and ordered with B&W .. if this plays out as presently indicated the process will have taken 6 months. This is a big "if" as the car has yet to enter production.

Mine started production July 9th and was delivered October 9th. But that included a 6 week stay at the Galveston port assuming due to the audio module shortage. This was a standard color with B&W.

Rumor is that M5s are going for above MSRP right now. That seems to be regional. I talked to my sales guy last Friday and he said with the lack of cars on lots, they have basically been selling cars at the allocation stage for above MSRP.

This just sucks......I do NOT want to wait 4 months for a car. My 2019 M5 lease is up in 2 months and this is just a shitty time to buy for 200 reasons.
I don't even mind paying MSRP....but I don't want to wait 4 months for an M5 that is going to be an old model just barely a year after. I also don't want a M8 or X5M that is going to be LCI'ed next year. Bad options all around right now.

My order was placed in April and it's at week 48. So looking at 8 months before start of production and maybe 10 months to delivery at this point.
I'm suspecting some 50 Jahre models coming out will give me some hesitation when I see the car next year. |

To be honest, I think this is a dealer based thing. I have a feeling some dealers have taken deposits for allocations they didn't quite have yet potentially or have bumped someone ahead because of price. I've heard horror stories such as the one above- 8 months of waiting- and then I've heard people order it, and see their car in 10 weeks. I think take everything with a grain of salt- good and bad- and just sit and watch some YT videos on the car knowing BMW could surprise anyone of us at any moment. Enjoy the wait because it'll all be worth it....at least that's what I keep telling myself 😂

Somewhere along the way, the additional lead time coincided with supply shortages ((B&W among others) and delayed the process even more. I'm blessed to be in the position to be waiting on a $150k car so I'm not sweating the process at all and simply extended the lease on my current M5.

Yep, my best advice is to enjoy the process. Be grateful you are waiting for a $110+K car.
