I know you want to go OEM, but you can easily grab a spool of 22 gauge wire at home depot in whatever color you choose and if you wanted, you could get two different colors, one for the left light and one for the right.

Update:

A few of you have PM'ed me about our next availability. I'm so sorry, but I do not have any lights in stock at the moment. You can place an order on the website to reserve a set for yourself. Most of the time, the lights are sold before they arrive at my doorstep. Im going to get this shipment of 10 euro lights and 7 NA lights on the 2-4th of November. So approximately a week from now.

On a side note, out kit comes with every part you need for the retrofit. One other vendor is selling the kit but without 2 of the drip rails. So make sure whichever kit you buy, it has 4 lights and 4 rails.

I know everyone says you need 4 drip rails but the oem retrofit kit only has the lower two. I bought the extra two upper but when I did the install it was clear they were not actually needed. Unless I'm missing something here. Now I will caveat this with that I did end up breaking a clip when removing the upper so I was able to cannibalize to reinstall.

My installer used all four, he said all the old pieces did not fit, including the upper two. FWIW.

Perhaps the pre-LCI drip rails will install for the upper, but if you look closely they don’t follow the indent in the LCI tail light so you have a drip rail extending out between the outer and inner portions of the tail light. Stock drip rail will probably still do what it’s designed to do, but it won’t look right to anyone who notices.

I installed us spec lights on my canadian 550 and after vic coded it my lights don't work properly whenever my light switch is in auto the turn signals blink fast and the outer lights don't light up but whenever it's night in auto everything works fine in day for it to work I have to move the switch to the on position for my blinkers to work. I talked to vic and even he is confused so I'm not sure what to do is it fixable?

Vic did my coding no issues. I would suggest to check wiring as coding is pretty standard now must be a wiring issue.

They do fit just fine actually. And the inner lights snap is the same. The out lights are what changed as the drip tray have nothing to do with the inner lights as they are on the trunk and not the rear quarter panel.

Not looking to start a debate over this. Just as someone who did the install hisself it was just something I noticed. Again BMW does not provide them for their original retrofit kit for a reason….I trust BMW knows what fits their cars. And just to reiterate I installed them haha.

No one is debating with you. My "FWIW" is just that, passed on from my installer as I specifically asked him this. It's not that big of a deal. You are most likely correct as it makes perfect sense. The inners didn't change. I used all new parts.

‘Just fine’ is a variable I suppose, and one person’s fine is another’s not quite right. As I stated the stock pre LCI drip rail will stick out between the outer tail light and the inner tail light. The first is a photo of the two, the LCI the lower one with the indent to accommodate the new shape of the LCI outer tail light.

The second is the left stock drip rail on the LCI tail light. The rubber edge is exposed and the plastic of the drip rail is over the plastic of the tail light. It will still do its job, it’s just not quite the right fit. Excuse the confusing upload of the photos. Bimmerpost wants to put the iPhotos sideways, sorry.

The bottom photo is the right LCI tail light with the LCI drip rail and the proper fit of the two.
I have too much time on my hands today and this was a fun rebuttal!

After reading through this thread a few times I just could not resist going with the Euro LCI lights for my car so I placed an order with Abdul.

Joe-BMW33 was very helpful in sending over instructions and I wanted to go with the moving the 5th wire in the light connector and the BDC instead of jumping the pins in the trunk. There was no way I was running 2 wires from the BDC to the trunk. I removed the trunk lid liner today to find out that I only have the 4 wires in the connector so there went that idea. While I am not completely opposed to splicing from one wire to another pin I figured a better way to do it would be to make up a little plug-and-play module without any splicing of the car wiring. Does anyone know the part number for the MQS socket contact? I am thinking it is 61131393724 or 61136931880 but not positive which one is correct.

This may or may not help

That sounds like a clean approach if you can make it work and find the right parts. Another option would be to use a T splice. Pretty clean and simply. I've used them on the same gauge wire on my E39 for tapping into audio.

Wait I thought if no 4th wire you jump using empty spots on wiring connector from outer to inner not splicing into a wire? Please verify

I think you mean no 5th wire. There will always be 4 wires minimum.

Jumping:
You jump from empty pin 4 on the inner to pin 1 on the outer which is occupied, you need to splice these on the outer and keep inserted into Pin 1.

Run from BDC:
from BDC to Pin 4 inner

If you have fog light wires (there will be 5 wires):
Move the fog from pin 1 to pin 4 and then move appropriately at the BDC (described a few posts up).

https://f90.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh...&postcount=327

The likelihood of you having a fog light wire is low. So you will likely be running new wires from the BDC or jumping.

I took the trunk apart again to take a close look at the connectors and they were much smaller than I thought. The pins are not difficult to remove from the connector with the correct tools and I decided after taking close-up pictures that the likely part numbers are 61131393723 (male) 61131383776 (female). I ordered 100 sets from AliExpress and hopefully they will not take too long to arrive.

I ordered 100 sets from AliExpress and hopefully they will not take too long to arrive.
If they work I'll buy. Lol

For those re-pinning, this is how the Euro inner tail connectors should look when done. The black wire in pin 4 is the new wire added from the BDC. Black on both sides. The pin 1 wires black/yellow and black/white are rear fog wires. Most US cars won't have these. So all wiring coloring is BMW spec except the black wires added from the BDC.

Hope this helps. The pic in hand is left, connected is right.

Abdul, I am still waiting for my taillight delivery paid on 16/08/2021 (nearly 3 months). probably not the best to advertise until you have supplied orders from many months ago.

It was great speaking to you. You're all set. You have the tracking number and the lights have been in transit. I can't believe the crazy transit times in Australia during Covid. It's ridiculous.

Please post pictures once you install the lights. Cheers.
