That's the thing. It's just a sticker overlay and not an actual cap! Micvite told me this long ago, and I forgot.

Thing is, it's kind of been a joke for so long I would have probably gotten it had I remembered anyway.

Adds weight lol you have your regular gas cap and this is a COVER for it made out of carbon fiber. I totally thought it was a whole gas cap when I bought it and my SA just threw me the box and it weighed like nothing I thought he was fking with me and it was empty we both nearly died on the floor laughing when I opened it.

The trunk net is pretty bad, too. No way I'd buy the antenna at this point. It's like an entirely different company designed some of these accessories.

Agreed. The taper shape is terrible, it’s too small, and the elasticity of the net portion seems to be too much. They should have made it larger and less stretchy in my opinion. Also with the mounting points closer to the bumper were in the corners as opposed to closer to the center.

Yeah the bmw website doesn't say it, but even the box does or if you look up the part number elsewhere lol I got duped by that myself 2 years ago almost and posted about it on here somewhere😂 the official name is carbon fiber gas cap COVER that the website so conveniently leaves out.

Lol I remember when my dealer threw it at me and I was like wtf he's fking with me this is empty! It felt like an empty box, then I was like bro you ordered me the wrong thing then we googled it and both fell on our asses laughing.

Oh he did, because that's what I told him😂 he doesn't do any parts sales so it's not his area or his fault he just went by what I said! And I was like yeah it's like you get rid of the old plastic gas cap and you get this cool new carbon fiber one blah blah blah and I was trying to figure out how they made it and which parts were gonna be metal and shit... nope

I was crapping on AliBaba a few minutes ago, but I just did a quick Google search because I thought some third party had to make an actual full fuel cap in CF how we all thought this was. And, what do you know, I came across this lol…

I don’t know how the quality of the CF is, but it does appear (to me at least) to be actually made from CF, and actually looks pretty good, even if not with the display of the M Performance logo that I love about the sticker.
