Motor Mounts Blown
While driving normal in comfort mode, car sounded fine. After getting on it in Sport mode and accelerating a few times, I heard an odd noise.
The best way to describe it was the door stoppers that are shaped like Slinkys. When you flick them and the reverberating noise came. Brought it to my dealer and it took a few times to replicate the noise. While pulling it into the shop, the techs revved it with the hood up. Motor almost jumped out, and it turned out to be blown motor mounts. 2019 M5C with 32,000 miles on it. CPO, so everything was taken care of. Just sharing, in case anyone else gets the same noise/issue. |

Thanks for the heads up.
Of the 5 cars I've driven before the M5, I've had to replace the motor mounts on 4 of them. Amazingly the 09 CTS-V mounts seemed to last for me. On my 2000 STS with the transverse mounted Northstar V8 if you revved with the hood up it looked like the engine was going to end up in your lap when the mount failed. My 04 CTS-V just had a rougher idle with a failed mount. (For reference the other failed mounts were also transverse mounted engines: GM 3800 V6 and Oldsmobile 4.0 V8). |

We need a higher mileage subsection so we can learn what sort of work is needed for cars with 50-100k miles and 100k-200k miles. Seems like a lot of leased cars and a lot of seldomly driven cars. I am only at 48k so I am in the lower mileage group, but do my own work and tend to do a lot of preventative maintenance.

Well, the same exact noise came back. Looks like I have potentially blown another motor mount! Car is back at BMW. Also found out my Engine was replaced at 25,XXX from previous owner. I bought the car as CPO, but never saw previous records. As long as they keep handing me X5 loners and have warranty until end of 2026, I cannot complain too much! haha...
