Lightbulb M5 Competition vs Panamera Turbo Race

One thing is for sure... BMW did not F*** around with this vehicle! It is kicking ass and taking names constantly. This review got a 2.84sec 0-60 and in the 10s for the quarter. That is absolutely BANANAS!!! Needless to say... The Porsche didn't stand a chance.

2019 most likely since it's a Competition. 2020s in Europe don't sound like that (from what I've read).

Love to see a battle of the LCI's! 2021 M5 Comp, 2021 E63S and 2021 Panamera

Porsche Dropped regular turbo now turbo S with 620hp and over 600lb/ft just did 7:29 at the ring.

You would be correct.
2019 onwards builds get fitted with particulate filters to meet emmisons regulations.

Thankfully my car is a 2018 build (one of the last ones before the PPF regs) so does sound like that.

Lol! Lucky b*^%d! 👍👍
Missus gave me a degree of sad face when I was going that road so switched for a 7-Seat X5 M50d.
I regret the decision a little but was driving an M5 (Std) on Monday and took this pic, then one from my car, the blurry one (M5) quarter tank with 99km range! 🙈 I convinced myself that ICE M5s will depreciate like stones when the all-electric 1000Hp tax and fuel-friendly version comes in 2024. Perhaps they'll rocket in value? 🤔...[IMG][/IMG]

With significantly less power from the Porsche, I am not surprised at the result.

Oh look - literally the only time a bmw will beat a porsche

Curious how they compete around a curved track?

Yes, great video. I saw that the other day along with the dragstrip video against the yellow Dodge Demon. One of the videos which got me on board to working on my 2021 M5 Competition deal in progress.

Watch "2019 BMW M5 Competition vs. Dodge Demon TRACK TEST // Drag Race, Drifting, Lap Times" on YouTube

Hmmmmm.... we're in strange times. The tree-huggers have been convinced by folk making billions trading carbon credits that CO2 is the root of all evil.
I drove a Tesla recently and couldn't wait to get out of it. All the personality of an iPhone.
Indeed, it may accelerate fast but it was somehow meaningless to me without the Snap, Crackle & Pop we have in this M5 Comp and other ICE'd vehicles.
The engine in my M50d will never be seen again and soon, the 4.4 8Cyl turbos of the M5s will be laid to rest.
If you want aural luxury in 2030, your only option may be a 2018 M5 Comp.
As example, somebody just dropped €30M on a bag of bones! 🤣 T-Rex fossil sells for record-breaking $31.8m https://www.rte.ie/news/world/2020/1...ossil-auction/

Definitely that. A family member has a Tesla Model S P85. Great car with great performance; that torque really pushes you back in your seat, but I could not deal with lack of characteristic engine noises of a performance ICE car. (Yes, I hate to admit I'm one of those guys that drives around in sport and sport+ most of the time just for the intoxicating noise).

(My wife will inevitably get an EV next regardless, most likely a Tesla). She insisted on an EV plug in the garage when we met with the electrician).

Lol, very same... don't have the volume yours produces but it's better than most of the other cars on the road.
I reckon we're at the zenith of motoring now. Amazing ICE cars are available but EVs are the near future and speed checks are everywhere.
It's stressful driving quick now.
I got nailed from 1600m (1 mile for the yanks) here in Ireland a few months back. Between cameras and lasers -we're not far from your Connected Drive grassing you up for minor breaches.

I agree with the last of an era thought.

That's why between my wife and I we have a bi turbo V8 (C63S) and a twin turbo M3 comp pack. I always wanted a V8 and needed a touring, so two birds killed with one stone.

I took a ride in a friends Tesla, but it was soulless and the seats so soft, you fell out in corners. The lack of sound just didn't feel right too.

Wow, that's some sneaky Ba$tid! We have them here too (however never seen one like that). Ours are in their cars on the side of the road hiding behind trees or billboards. I got nailed on the interstate going from New Jersey into New York State. Lidar/ laser got me instant on.

Changing gears. we reached a deal tonight on my 2019 911 C4S trade value and put the order in for my LCI F90 Competition!! Probably won't see it until December (he had an allocation build put in tonight). It will be a beast! MBBlue, Silverstone, Dark aluminum carbon structure,, black rims, Competition pkg, Driving Asst, Executive pkg, red calipers. Now the waiting game!

Oh wow. What a surprise. The lighter car with more power wins -_- Race it against the fastest Panamera model at least LOL. The Turbo S would destroy the M5.

Impressive numbers, that V8 and AWD system must be working real hard.

wonder if they did a 2wd rolling race with the demon, would probably be neck in neck.
in terms of panamera turbo s it won't destroy the M5, the most it will break even.

I'd bet on the M5 beating the turbo S. And the upcoming M5 CS would take it to another level.

The M5 is just a class leader. My only gripe is that it's too insulated - get rid of the fake engine fluff, tighten the downshifts, widen the hips a little more, and you have a near perfect car.

MBBlue, Silverstone, Dark aluminum carbon structure,, black rims, Competition pkg, Driving Asst, Executive pkg, red calipers. Now the waiting game!
Only way to deal with that is an integrated laser jammer! Genevo HDM+ w/ ALP is a good setup.
