Stock Exhaust Getting Louder and more Crackles?

BIMMERPOST
     Featured on BIMMERPOST.com
Does your stock exhaust get loud over time?
I kept mine in service for some weird noise issue for 2 weeks and got it back yesterday and car feels different than before.
(see post: https://f90.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh....php?t=1555464)

Can it be the cold weather that causes the car to make exhaust sound?
It has more popping and crackle sounds than before.
With all the windows up on sport plus mode, it used to sound like quiet bubbles but now I can clearly hear the crackles and when windows are down, it sounds like there's gunshots going on outside!

Noticed the same with mine. Had it in for a recall and thought there was definitely a difference to the exhaust. I thought my mind was playing tricks on me - but perhaps not. I am loving it though!

I feel like my non comp m5 also sounds different but there's no reason it should. Not sure if it's just our minds or the cold weather.

I put the comp exhaust pipes on my F90, and it is def getting louder with time/miles. I think this is fairly normal as exhausts break in.

Mine definitely makes more noise after it is warmed up for a while.

It was really nasty after running it WOT at The Glen for a few laps!

I think it might be the cold weather having more of an effect than being broken in. I've noticed that the cracks and pops have been effortless when I start up but gets back to normal after a while.
