3 things I find impressive:
- M5 is only .3 behind Chevys holy grail
- Stelvio Quadri doing that well
- Stinger GT outdoing CTR

The only cars which beat the M5, a massive 4 door SEDAN, were hard core 2 seat race rockets that weigh 1000lbs less.

If they had actually raced them on that airstrip the M5 would have finished 4th. It would beat the ZR1 on an unprepared surface. ZR1 is 0.3 quicker on a prepped dragstrip.

The ZR1 is a pig, and only weighs 600-700lbs less.

Super impressed with the M5 results, and I do agree it had a bad launch/driver.

1/2 mile, maybe 145-148. No way it is over 150. If the much more slippery and lighter ZR1 small-wing can only manage 153, then 140s is it. The high wing ZR1 had a bigger gap than that in the 1/4, so it seems the gap would grow with the smaller frontal area at those speeds.

Still can't believe a KIA ran a 13.1!!!! sick

The McLaren is just foking BANANAS!!!

The car I would most want in this lineup for obvious reasons:

Epic curbside appeal and exotic supercar presence! Relentless performance that is hypercar-like!

Complacency will eventually lead to failure no matter how great you are. Ferrari earned its reputation from building cars that looked and performed great. Let others beat you at your own game for long enough and you start losing customers and fans that brought you to the top.

As a millennial that's in a position to purchase a new ferrari I would look to mcLaren and Lamborghini first if I wanted a car from that segment, and quite a lot of guys my age feel the same way. So yes, Ferrari can afford to not care about their competition if their goal is to rot on the vine and wither into oblivion as their existing nostalgic clientele continue to age.

I'm not saying current Ferraris are bad by any measure, but they definitely need to care about the competition. Besides, if they didn't care, they wouldn't cheat on comparison tests and withdraw their cars when they knew it would compare unfavourably to the competition.

Well Ferrari is more of a family than any other car brand out there. From cavalcade to special events around the world it's more of a special lifestyle than McLaren or lambo.

The Ferrari experience is a sports car with crazy performance that is comfortable for daily use or at home on any track all while looking and sounding beautiful which has always what the brand has been and will be. No crazy wings allowed on a Ferrari and that's from the head of design.

Sorry but Lambo and mclaren still have a very far way to go before they have the full package that Ferrari does and that's without including the high resale value on almost all their models.

My mclaren dealer calls me monthly to buy a 720s while the neighbouring Ferrari dealer is sold out of everything except the Lusso.

Bingo. Ferrari is also notorious for their tactics on buying a "lesser" ferrari to get on the list to buy the one everyone actually wants.

Buy the Lusso and they'll let you place an order for a Pista or even a regular 488.

My dad is on his 5th ferrari from the same dealership and likely couldn't get a Pista right now. And, he's a V12 client from the start.

My friend is getting the Pista and yes it's a bundle buy with the Lusso. He told me he already negotiated a price for the Lusso with a second hand car dealer and will take him to the Ferrari dealership the day he is slated to pick up the Pista/Lusso, not planning to drive the Lusso at all.

My pista Aperta order is already in and no need for the Lusso purchase. Tell your friend that if he intends to buy more F cars then he should let his Ferrari dealer sell the Lusso for him.
The more cars you buy from and sell though your Ferrari dealer the less restrictions you will have in the long term and it's way cheaper that way than to have to buy a Lusso or Portofino every time you want a limited production car.

Ok, this is his first time buying from official dealership hence the bundle buy. He currently has 360 stradale, 430 scuderia, and 458 speciale but they were bought second hand.

I will have to disagree with you here.

My car traps 127.5-129 MPH consistently in the 1/4. The F90 M5 setup is clearly top end power as I am making at least 27.5-29 MPH on the back half (after the 1/8th). Having run many many 1/2 mile competitions, I have found FI cars run about 25-30 MPH in the second 1/4 mile - so the M5 will easily run 152-154 MPH, to even 157-159 MPH in the 1/2 mile without a limiter.

Regarding the M5 speeds at the half mile (800m), it was tested in South Africa at 255km/h (159mph) and 268km/h (168mph) over the standing 1km.
