If you can afford a $125k car (whether its a lease or not) you can afford to pay someone to pick up your car, take it to have the piece painted or wrapped or plastidipped in purple if you want. Then, you do the same thing in reverse before you return the car.
quit being cheap. |

you say potato, I say cheap. No car is going to come exactly 10000% the way you want it. if you don't like it, change.

It’s not about being cheap. It’s about not wanting to pay more to make it look like an M550i and less like an M5.

exactly my contention, it looks so fkin cheap its ridiculous, the whole point of M cars and M-Sport packages on the lesser cars is to do away with all the plastic. not only is this not plastic its piano black... which if you look at cross-eyed scratches all up. at the very least it should be an option, similar to how AMG has a night-optic package or something on the e63.

Are you guys talking about the little black strip/spoiler thing on the back? That ruins the car? Hmmmm...
I’ve not noticed it looking badly on light colored cars either. |

No, they're talking about the diffuser.

I kind of wasted my time reading this thread as I thought this was new. The Competition upgrades are sick. This car in Alpine White screams the Euro look. This will be my first time going with a different color.

No single car would satisfy anyone nor everyone fully. That is why there are so many aftermarket cosmetic parts to be swapped out and the reason for the growing popularity of wrapping cars in totally different and outrageous colors.
Nobody put a gun to anybody's head to buy any car. If you like a car overall and maybe just some small cosmetics, just spend abit of money to get it done to what you like. If anyone is gonna say oh i paid a fortune for a product and expect the product to come 100% the way he/she wants it, isnt that abit being too self centred and too demanding? That is also why manufacturer have personalisation programs like bmw's individual and mclaren has their mso.

As one of the biggest black bumper detractors when I first saw it in pictures, in real life it's really not as terrible, and with the black spoiler and badge it fits the rear end OK. However the mirrors are another story, I don't feel it adds to the overall look in any way and they should have been body colored.

This old thread is a hoot. The M5 Comp is gorgeous and this pre-release thread sounds like a bunch of high schoolers worrying about their prom outfits. . I think you OCD guys are overthinking this one. To each his own but I find the black mirrors, kidney grill and matching trim beautiful and the black rear diffuser on the Comp is the one of the best car asses out there. Peace out. |

Yes we Canadians may be a strange breed, but I believe that there is a common thread that transcends nationalities and that unites all of us here on this forum - the appreciation of a fine ass, the lines, the curves of the object of your desire And that is a deeply personal thing. Freudian. Jungian. And furthermore, in the Americian tradition, I boldly declare that i defend your right as well to sound "like a bunch of high schoolers worrying about their prom outfits" in order that when you wake up in the early morning, burdened with the tasks of the day before you, that you look in your garage and are moved to tears by the sight before you..... even if those mirrors are black and not body coloured! |
