Boost by gear and by RPM do--I have firsthand experience there having broken anything other than map 1 through coding because the needed modules auto-locked themselves out. Fixed now but boy it wasn't easy; warranty questions were also raised.
If you install the Jb4 without the OBD, its basically the same as the stage 1.

All the additional Jb4 features will need the OBD connection

Thanks. My point was to make it clear that, on this front, it's no longer an apples-to-apples comparison on price and install complexity.

None whatsoever. In fact, it's the other way around--the piggyback was hobbled by the inability to obtain telemetry.

They performed some super-secret voodoo reset that required BMW NA & Germany I believe. Stated another way, they didn't tell me much and I didn't ask.

Do you want a little more power but nothing serious?
If so go with the RC or BMS stage 1

Data logging not really, its a daily car so taking it to events to compare data is not my thing.

I know these Engines suffer rod failure which happened on my last F10 so i don't want to go down this route again.
a simple increase is enough for me this time and this is something i'll do after a year of owning the car just to keep the smile on my face, for now i'm testing the waters and trying to find out if this new engine can take it, i don't want to be the first to bend a rod
RC's two channel approach is more convenient to uninstall/reinstall for service trip. Even though it is more of a "not so serious" power gain, the improvement in driving sensation should satisfy many owners.

Most runs were near Tesla factory where many constructions are under way so loose pebbles and sand cause most run required early brake release to reduce spin in LC.

We could only have CA 91 fuel. The 1/4 mile time improves from 11.27 to 10.76. 0-60 improves from 3.19 (3.01) to 2.82 (2.60). I find it is balanced between ease of installation and just enough excitement from daily casual sprints.

I know JB4 could provide 10.50 or better 1/4 time. I am just a bit too lazy so went with 2 channel RC way as it takes less than 10 minutes to install.

I think that SPEED-BUSTER is the leading company in Germany and worldwide.
https://www.chiptuning.shop/de/bmw/5...441kw-4395ccm/

There are other interesting companies that are using the same technology.
In Germany: http://www.racetools.de/chiptuning/p...-305-kmh-6346/
In USA: https://www.vividracing.com/tuned-ec...152408030.html

The increases are subtracted from the original declared horsepower of BMW. With 100 or 102 octane quality fuel you can reach a maximun increase of around 90 HP and 200 Nm of torque based on the real measured engine power (dyno test).

The BMS Stage1 is their 2 channel offering. On the JB4 though you have the option to install just the TMAP sensors and have it act as a 2 channel. Perfect for those who want quick install now but may want more later, or want to maintain resale value on the tuner down the road.
