I guess they want to emphasize not to use Launch Control during break-in, period.

Nobody gets it...

The manual actually says 'period' as making a point. PERIOD

I TOLD you to stop that PERIOD. Don't do that PERIOD.

Actually (being German) they just used commas where parentheses would've been more appropriate in English. They were referring to the "break in period."

Agreed, this happens in Italian manuals as well. Not everything is properly translated into English.
I'd also follow the manual, because if a mechanical failure happens, you'll probably be hung out to dry for the $$$$
