Microfilter service question

I just emailed a service advisor since my F90 has been popping up with the service coming up messages. Looks like I also need to get an oil change done based on the notification. He mentioned the standard check was $85 and the oil service was $268, but he said the microfilter service was $296. What is so special about the microfilter service? Are there a ton of expensive filters or are they hard to get to? Just wondering if this can be done myself. Thanks.

I'm sure it can. Not sure where they are though. On my X5 50i there were two on the passenger side of the engine bay. Took 20 min.

A s there's an interior cabin one up under the glove box. Handful of T bolts and it slides out in a holder. 15 min.
