Gesture control uses emitters that trigger the Laser detection.
Search, there are many posts/threads on this with various work arounds. I turned laser off on my V1. Laser not commonly used here. Mike

I don't use the gesture control, so this is what I did on my car with the sensor. Had to keep the ///M theme going.

That is true, laser detection is ostensibly worthless. If your detector can pick up the laser signal, it means you have already been pinged. Might as well turn off the laser detection feature on the radar detector.

Only workaround is a laser jammer which is mounted outside the car anyway.

Have you factored in that the law might hit a car in front of you causing an alert??.......

Because of the nature of laser, that is very rare. The reflection of laser light off of other cars is scattered and not strong enough to detect easily. 99% of the laser alerts you get with a radar/laser detector are direct hits and mean you have already been tagged.
