M5 generations including F90 and others at BMW HQ meet

BIMMERPOST
     Featured on BIMMERPOST.com
Attended the PistonHeads Sunday Service this weekend which was held at BMW HQ in the UK. There was a good variety of display cars from BMW and the first time the F90 M5 had been out in public over here. They had it lined up with every other generation outside the main building which was very cool to see.

The meet itself was organised by a forum which covers many marques but the meet had a BMW bias due to the location so I have included some pictures of other BMW that attended too.

Inside the reception area they have some awesome high spec current models including a £150k 760iL

We went in our M2 which was parked a little out of sight so it was nice to be invited to park it in a more prominent position so people could see it. One of the staff remarked that if they did do a M2 GTS it wouldn't be far of what we had to ours.

BMW also put on coffee and breakfast which was also very nice of them. Look forward to next years one.

Any chance Imran that you noticed if the F90 had 285/35r20 on the rear or 295/35r20?

95% chance 285 imo, especially after the frozen red car had 285's on in Frankfurt, that was the car with 295s in the press photos. I think they're saving 295s for CP. I'm sure you'd agree.

As a general statement I really dislike them staggering tires by 10mm, i mean, might as well make them square so we could rotate them. At least with a 20mm stagger you feel you might be getting "enough" extra grip in the back to warrant them. We all know RS7's have no problems with traction using 275's all the way around with shitty Pirelli's.

I've only driven the current RS6 which comes with 285/30r21 all round and what that really needs is 325s at the front!

What I'm really keen to find out is what percentage of height difference we can configure in idrive to see what some of the other possibilities are

Just found this

http://g30.bimmerpost.com/forums/att...5&d=1505843696

Which lists the 19" option as 265/40r19 and 285/40r19 meaning we can have 2.25% bigger rears at least which gives a reasonable level of flexibility

Pretty sure you input what tire size you have on the car and I guess it sorts it out from there. This is an amazing feature if it's as flexible as that. GTR's have a hell of a time with different size tires. Just now are they making a 325/30/20 R888r for those boys.

Any other pics of the m5? I was surprised to see only partial pics of a car that everyone has been waiting to see in the flesh

I hate the new M5 wheels but the front seats certainly make up for it.... I'd probably buy the car just for those seats.

I am pretty pleased with the evolution from the F10. I am suspect of the transmission though. We shall see...
