If you click the link it points to a 3.0 sec result. Odd.

Yeah they got 2.8 with the standard M5... They mentioned the CP would probably be faster with the gripper Mich's.

Does anyone still honestly believe that the M5 is only turning out 600-617HP? These numbers pretty much support the dyno data out there suggesting more like 650+.

Read this article a little while back. Based on their [conservative] measurements, they'll quote 600-617HP. But if the way they measure it is quite a bit different than the standard or at least what folks use to compare power stats between different cars, it's not all that helpful. Other than you know you're getting AT LEAST that much power/acceleration.

They could have gone the way of Dodge, re: Demon, and stated the absolute best case scenario numbers...

Agreed. These cars are making upwards of 700 hp. The results wouldn’t be nearly as good is if the quote numbers were true.
Porsche just killing it in that list just as much as they do where it really counts.

This list is a bit out of date though and surely missing some cars (ie 911 turbo/S, etc). A Taycan Turbo S is the fastest car with 4 doors in the world I believe now at 2.4 and a 10.5 1/4 mile.

I think the craziest setting of the P100D might be quicker than the Taycan now. Tesla did not give C&D that car anyway...

Hasn't anyone dyno'ed the F90? What is the true HP and torque?

I thought I read somewhere that someone did just that and the F90 was putting approx. 600hp to the wheels so when accounting for drivetrain loss put hp at the crank closer to 685 or so.

C&D, I believe, did a Dyno on the M5C and low and behold it showed 617 WHP. Now the big question is. With its AWD, what is the drivetrain loss. 15/18/20%. I would think given how much more efficient AWD systems have become, it’s probably 15/18% loss meaning it would be 710-728 crank. And that also corroborates the trap speed and results you see for these cars.

Yup, here's the Car and Driver dyno test on an M5 Competition. 617hp, 606lb-ft at the wheels. So closer to 700hp at the crank.

Drivetrains are extremely efficient these days. Loss is likely 7-8% not 12-20% like 10-15 years ago

So in regards to the Car and Driver test, an 8% drivetrain loss on an M5C would still mean it's making around 670hp at the crank.

I'm as proud as the next M5 comp owner to read this. But I've never seen details of the 2.6 stock run anywhere. Wonder if it's a mistake...
