Ugh... I wish they would just show the LCI at this point. Cars will be in production in something like 90 days. (not sure if this variant will be released right when the LCI is)

Power increase will be minimal given the recent CS model history. ECU remap and/or hi-flow exhaust and intake could easily yield 20-50 bhp without much expenditure. An electric motor adds big time power and cost.

This is the magic question, how much more money over an M5 Comp?

Why? It's cheaper to produce than making sure the weave is straight on traditional carbon and they will most likely charge more. I honestly don't see the appeal of it looking like a fake marble countertop

Those front bumper side air inlets have an interesting insert in them. Could be weird by themselves so I wonder if there is some change to the middle opening to make it flow better. Hood hump doesn't flow right in my opinion and I wonder if it's functional considering the CS is supposed to have a more compact new V8. Front lip is meh. I would like it if they made the whole front more aggressive akin to the M2 styling and added some M3 style rear fender flares. And bigger factory exhaust tips.

Yup. I don't get the complaints here; I'd rather have another more hardcore version of the M5 than some front-wheel drive M hatchbacks.

Like the hood, dislike the lights. The existing lights at least give a nod to the old angel eyes, these look like Audi lights and other generic headlights I've seen.

I dont understand the niche this car is trying to fill. Isnt the CS moniker for a light weight track focused car? This isnt it. So maybe CS now is what Competition was, more power, suspension, and exhaust tune? Is this car going to be limited edition? What is BMW doing here?

To my eyes the hood bulge has a ridge or some kind of separation in the middle, no doubt to tie to the forthcoming M3/M4 design language with the pronounced twin power bulge nostrils
