On two occasions I even swaped front to back mid-day to even the wear, I did what I could for them to last my short season. (newborn in July) It is a heavy car but nowadays unless you get back to a true sports car all comparably sized sedans are in the 3800-4100lbs range so it seems a bit pointless arguing to all ends like they do on the G80/82 forums about weight and all..

Other vise this doesn't make sense No way his tires would have looked like that with camber plates set to sufficient negative camber.

Please see Camber Plate pic attached... I had another Autox session last Friday and I was very carefull to find the right corner speed and not overdrive the front tires... that resulted in reasonable tire wear and helped being on power early, made the car tail happy and me even happier... (not Xdrive) The tire pic I posted earlier was a product of 1 track day before camber plates, 1 track day after camber plates and 1 Autox session. All of it in South Florida heat while overdriving the fronts, may that tire RIP. Anyway, here is a link for camber plates: https://vorshlag-store.com/collectio...-80-suspension I'm still thinking about upgrading to wider fronts, hopefully before the next Autox event. |

Ok McSampa. Thanks for clarifying things.
So I was right, you did damage your front tires before installing the c.plates. According to Vorshlag website only -2.5 front camber can be achieved with these c.plates due to the tight constraints of the factory strut tower and the large diameter of the OEM spring. This means we cant use r-compound tires without replacing stock suspension with coilovers. Moving to a coilover spring/strut combo allows for considerably more camber travel due to the smaller diameter of various coilover spring 60mm vs OEM 120mm. Fastest r-compound tires require at least 3.2 negative camber upfront from my experience. I am not planning to replace stock suspension and with these c.plates will be limited to use only street tires. And I am not sure -2.5 camber up front is enough even for street tires on such a heavy car. I would love to be wrong and don't want to sound too negative, but hopefully someone can tell us more about this issue.

the PS4S treads are designed to clear water, there is so much blank space in place of missing rubber needed rotate the front at high speeds. look at nankang ar1. https://www.tyrereviews.com/Tyre/Nankang/AR-1.htm
also 225 is way too narrow. my ex subaru wrx which is much lighter needed 245 to rotate Last edited by G30M; 04-15-2022 at 01:46 AM.. |

Bit a noob to the forum but have a bit of experience with track events/track setups. I haven't had the chance to check out the suspension geometry of G20s but is adding shims to lower control arm for more camber a possibility? May be another way to add more camber in lieu of/in addition to camber plates.
