I view the CS as the spiritual successor to that S2000. It’s just awesome and I love it. Even if I found another S2000, I wouldn’t sell the CS. I’m just attached to it more (plus, the wife loves it too).
I want to get a CS so I can sell my S2000. That car has been fantastic and owes me nothing but I just feel like I'm done with it after 15 years. I'm over having to worry about the hard top, soft top, a separate set of track wheels/tires, and having it be so unpleasant on the road due to how it's currently set up. I have no desire to drive it anywhere but the track anymore and that's sad. The CS seems like the car that can satisfy all my wants in an 'extra' sportscar.

Latest car sold for $86k. Solid buy for the buyer. I didn’t get the green light to bid.

If we throw out the 1,400mi car and the 31,000mi car, MT CSs [with 5-7k miles] are currently going for ~$12/mi.

MT Cars Aug. '23 to Apr. '24 On Auction Sites:
(BaT = Red, Cars and Bids = Green)
1,400 mi (SB), $100k ($105k), 2024
5,000 mi (SB), $81.5k ($85k), 2024
7,000 mi (SB), $84k ($88k), 2023
7,000 mi (SB), $77k ($81k), 2024
7,000 mi (SB), $77k ($81k), 2024
7,000 mi (CCB), $86k ($90k), 2024
9,000 mi (SB), $80k ($84k), 2023
31,000 mi (CCB), $73.5k ($77k), 2024*

*Accident reported

That buyer got a solid deal - I think the auction getting hot early likely scared some folks off and limited the “emotional bidding” you see on last day. But like we all be saying, so many variables with these auctions…2 months, everything can change, better or worse.

At days end, my CS is in my 401K…ain’t liquiditating her anytime soon haha

You can consider my CS permanently off the market. It is sick nasty. I took it out for a first real drive since winter and it is absolutely mental.

Im happy you’re both enjoying! I’ve never driven one but I’m sure they deserve to be driven and if they had feelings they’d be thrilled to have their miles be racked up.

Mine definitely has feelings / emotions…sometimes if I drink enough beer sitting in my lawn chair staring at her in the garage, she tells me so!

Honestly one of the biggest things that gives me pause is the lack of an armrest!! Hahaha

But in all seriousness (tho above isn’t a joke) not realistic for me to have one anyways.

Based on the other sales I’d expect it to go for $76-77k before buyer’s fee. The PPF repair on the lip is pretty cheap but a fastidious buyer will want to replace the damaged wheel which is kind of pricey.

Honestly temped to buy another one and tuck away…feel like this is a “buying opportunity” in this car’s history. Original shorter term owners all turning over around the same time, new M2CS on the horizon, and a bad macro environment. Confident this is going to go down as one of the (if not the) best M cars ever made, and think as time goes on, that’s going to become increasingly clear. This prob lasts a few years or so, so I don’t feel rushed, but if I can swing it, I’m snagging a white/gold/CCBs and throwing her on the rack. Only issue…Porsche made a GT4RS, and I think my CS would be happy bunk mates with one of those too

I never missed the armrest. You can use the rest on the door and I actually found the wide bolster on the driver’s seat stretched out so far I often put weight on that.

The CS is the one car I find myself not using the armrest. I thinks is a combination of the seat bolsters and typically driving in a manner that requires both hands on the steering wheel…

I’ve owned a M3 CS and now the M2 CS. Never found the absence of an armrest to be an issue.

I also have a VB WRX as my daily and the armrest could barely be classified as one. It’s very short. My trips are 3 hours in a single direction for work (in frequent business trips), and I have no issue with the lack of one.

This modded AW manual CS went through dealer auction this week. 17k miles and sold for $78k plus fees. Still a fairly strong price considering BaT comps.

Well it does have a ton of modifications along with a "prior paint" notation...that plus it's doubtful that it comes with a box of all the stock parts, so I would have guessed it a good bit lower at a wholesale auction. I guess given all of that it is a strong wholesale price number. It's hard to fathom the retail market paying much more for this example (i.e. enough to cover time and expenses to retail it).

Someone will be crying in their Cheerios when they list it for $99k and no one calls, they eventually drop the price to $89k and no one calls, and then have to let it go for $75k after a year.
