Do they usually release the 2025 at the end of 2024? Like could I take possession in 2024?

It's definitely possible. Usually the new model year begins production in late August/Early September. So, November/December delivery is possible.

So do I understand correctly then there is essentially no 2024 model of the m5? It skips a year?

Yes. Every new model M5 skips 1 year in between.
