Interesting why you chose to only do the inlets and thus chose the eventuri. Would have thought to do Dinan as they're bigger and go all the way to the airbox. Is it because their stuff is never in stock?

Just a fyi, I have stock primaries and removed secondaries on my M3. Even though the primaries are larger than the removed secondaries, it still smells bad.

They chose me. Car was new, had work planned, they got these new items in, asked if I'd want a set while they were already under the hood, and I said why not?

Thanks, it might be the case for M3 but I had the catless secondaries and stock primaries before and there was no smell… the only reason I went full catless because of stage 2 tune

Looks awesome. I'm happy to hear someone who hasn't gone off the deep end in modding did this first and notices a difference in the throttle response.

How are you liking the Dinan X-pipe?

You are correct, they are "Dinnman"

I found them here from another member. He posted a picture of his engine bay, I asked the same question, a week later they were in the mail. Easy to install, and a nice finishing touch to the engine bay as a whole. I do wish the weave was in the same direction as the rest of the CF in there, but i'll take what I can get to separate it from the rest!

I have my secondaries removed (with stoic primaries in place) and as expected there is no odor/smell of any kind.

Yeah Matt said the tech was like, "Wait, no intakes??" Lol

I had no plans for mods beyond dash cams, the X pipe, and a bunch of iND cosmetic stuff, since I plan to get out of it early if/when the G90 wagon comes to the States.

I got the X pipe right when it was announced, and had it delivered in under a week, which was not the case shortly thereafter. For $450 it's a solid mod, although it won't scratch any serious exhaust itch lol. It was on my previous F90 for about 20k miles, and it was perfect for something subtle but noticeable.

I love that you went nuts with the mods, now we can all live vicariously through you!

You'll get that heavy fuel smell with primaries. Same with the intense turbo spooling sounds

Just installed. Not a huge fan of thr tolerance in the turbo connection point. Much more wobbly than I would prefer. Can definitely understand those that end of with a intake CEL.

Push the suckers all the way down until they “pop” on. Put the tension rings on and just not doing well for my perfectionist mindset.

I do appreciate they’re aluminum vice the plastic Dinan uses.

The passenger side does wobble a bit on my M8 as well, but if you look where the ends meet it actually pretty secure since the inlet goes pretty deep into the turbo.

That being said I did get a check engine light, it was caused by the gaskets in the breather case. Reached out to Eventuri, they sent new gaskets, replaced them and the CEL is gone.

I just got mine today. Will install later this week I hope. It looks pretty straight forward -- like putting my intakes back might be the longest part. Did you have to remove your intakes or can you kind of wiggle them out of the way?

Also -- reading the instructions from Eventuri (https://www.eventuri.net/wp-content/...tion-Guide.pdf), it looks like they use gasket and O-ring interchangeably? Is that right? It looks like there's just one gasket per inlet that comes from the stock BMW inlets. When they sent you a new one -- did it look like they had their own they made/sourced or is it just a new BMW stock part?

Never ordered anything from Eventuri. Beyond their gorgeous looking products, I really appreciate the care it look like they put into their packaging unlike some other vendors.

There is an additional gasket inside that black box that the breather hose connects too, that needs to be changed to avoid the CEL. The stock o ring you swap in is just fine

Yea you have to remove the intakes

So before I break something out of frustration. How hard was it for you to get these little breather points off?
I removed the 3x tiny t-8s and have pulled pretty good but they’re not budging. I even tried slipping in a small pry tool but it’s marking the aluminum so I stopped.

After I removed the 3torx screws from the breather boxes, I just used a flat head at the corner of the box and pushed away came right off with not too much pressure

ok. I'll give it another go this afternoon. didn't want to remove the intake so ive been precariously hanging over the engine bay with a paper towel under the breather boxes praying i dont lose one of those tiny screws which are barely magnetic. So i didnt put them back in.

haha figured if i can force it off, then they wont come off on their own so no issue driving to work. hell ive already got the CEL.

Yea wouldn't recommend driving without the screws in. Once you get it off you'll realize that there nothing holding it in place but memory. The new ones won't stick a well

Haha ya no issues. It actually helped to loosen the rubber up. It fell right off. Put thr new one in and then it too fell right off and under the turbo coolant intakes. That was annoying but learned my lesson for driver side. Didn’t lose any screws thankfully.

Bad news is I still have a CEL. Plan is to connect my phone tonight and see if I can clear the code. I was hoping it was a sensor and it was constantly reading the values and thus would see if they changed. Not that lucky. If this doesn’t work. Well then I’m SOL.

After installing the new gaskets, yes, you still need to clear the code.

If you make an menial change on bimmercode and save it, it will clear all codes during the process. That's what I did.
