Update on mine - it's moved into production today! Mine had B&W removed by BMW.

The interesting thing is we were able to add M Performance Exhaust as a port installed option even though it's still not showing on the accessories / build page.

I still don't expect to see the car until December 1, but nice to see it finally moving forward!

i placed my order for my 22 M5C on 9/4 in frozen bluestone metallic. I called my dealership after reading all of this and asked if there are any significant delays that he knows about. He said not to his knowledge and still expects it to be 8-12 weeks delivery date. Is there any chance he is right?

My order status is still in 'order received'.

I'll just say I've had a Production # since June and my current Production Week is 45.

Expect delays and be patient.

Does your build have B&W?

There is currently a stop sale on a camera issue and an audio module issue that I'm aware of. The genius said mine was stuck due to the audio module and had an estimated delivery date of 10/9. It arrived at Galveston on 8/20. But this thread below said some might move through faster. Mine was a mid-July build start.

This is an interesting thread over on the M3/M4 board:

No I did not have B&W in my build. I've heard this could cause potential delays so I chose not to place it in the order. Why are they still approximating 8-12 weeks at this point? Makes no sense because they also guaranteed me a price on my trade in which was pretty aggressive once my M5C arrives. (I made sure to get this in writing).

So I mentioned yesterday that I asked my dealer contact to add the CCBs to my order but she couldn’t because my order could no longer be modified.

Lo and behold, I log on to My Garage this morning and what do I see? Those sweet, sweet gold calipers 🙂 📀

July 2 - placed order for M5C Frozen Dark Silver (individual color…so told to add a few weeks to production)
Sept. 6 - scheduled for week 37 build
Sept. 13 - changed to week 40 build
Sept. 20 - remains at week 40 build

Likelihood my car actually starts production the first week of Oct.? I'm putting that very low given the state of things. But we shall see.
Heard from my SA today that I've now been pushed to a week 45 build. Bummer but not surprised.

By hell or high water I'm gonna get my car…one of these days!

And mine was bumped from week 37 to week 44. Hopefully a grouping of M5s in the week 44/45 time frame means those dates stick!

Is your build Individual? Seems like a couple of us with Individual are Week 45.

Nope, all "stock" colors.

Checked with my rep and found that my M5 no longer has a production date (was confirmed 40) and the X5 M50i remains confirmed (whatever confirmed really means) production of week 46. Getting pretty annoying. He just said his rep at bmw just said not to worry and to have faith. I told him that doesn’t really mean anything to me when I spending 250k on cars with them that had alleged confirmed production dates. More transparency and information would be great. Sounds like B&W is just one issue but there are many greater issues they are facing… who knows?

Have faith!?!?! Ugh. :

I've been scouring Porsche, Audi, Mercedes and Land Rover dealerships trying to get a handle on what else is out there.

In the end, supply of the kinds of cars I'd swap for my DD is scant. And I'm pretty sure I'd be kicking myself the moment I saw someone drive by in what should have been my car.

Faith is in short supply here. But lack of viable options and a deep desire to avoid regret has me sitting tight.

I recently saw a video by Nick Murray talking about inventory issues at Porsche dealerships. Many have zero new inventory. I'm surprised BMW is at least moving forward with some orders.

My M5 CS has no production date and I'm not optimistic.

This thought has certainly run through my head as well, someone else driving my car. The thing is I’m not in a crazy hurry I just didn’t like that response. If I said that to one of my customers I would be torn apart left and right. They would want real answers, Information. I’ve considered going Porsche my self. Been a loyal Bmw owner for a long time. I wonder if they would let me drive the car home without paying and just tell them to have faith in the payment arriving.

How long has it taken on average for those of you who have received their 22' LCI?
From the day the car was ordered to the time of delivery at the dealership?

Things are tough all over. The reason I’m even here (besides wanting an M5 since the 80s) is that I ordered a car from another manufacturer in March. I still don’t have an allocation and no idea if/when I’ll ever get one. The dealer has zero info and they never call with updates. I don’t even call anymore.

It’s not like BMW doesn’t want to sell us cars. My dealer has 100 vehicles of their inbound inventory presold, 45 deposits for vehicles they don’t even have yet and a line of people behind me waiting for an M5. There’s no info because there’s no info. I’ve resigned myself to the fact that I’ll get my car when I get it. And it’s gonna be worth it.

That's a good question. I had the first '22 M5 allocation at my dealer on June 9 but passed on it because I didn't like the deal. I struck a deal for the next one on July 2nd and it looks like the earliest I see my car will be Dec.

Curious if anyone has a '22 M5 other than the handful of CS's out there.
