Took this while up in DC selling some parts for my X5 since the wife doesn't need them.

But I have to throw out there. The car was much louder after the break in service. My intake noise is there almost constantly now. Just woosh woosh

Not saying there is more power or anything silly but before I could only notice the intake noise on big pulls. Now almost anything let's me here her sing. It's odd.

Also started noticing a clunk noise in the cabin passenger side when going over small imperfections like man holes etc. need to hunt that down!

So just picked up a BMW sunshade. Have one for my X5 and would prefer to have one that doesn't say BMW but after I ordered one from covercraft (maker of BMW oem sunshades) it turned out to be more expensive and not shipping until NOVEMBER. So canceled that order and headed to getbmwparts and ordered a "luxury" version. Which saved me $15. Wasn't sure what luxury meant compared to the regular but it is the only option for the M5.

Got it today and I was quite impressed compared to my X5 version. This one is wrapped in an "alcantara" feeling material on the back vice a roughy black material. Very nice to see actually. I'll post pictures when I go back down stairs.

Those tri color grilles look horrendous. I have a plain set for sale in the classifieds for $325 or best offer. You don’t have to pay $325 though you can offer $200, I may take your offer.

Ah 32 makes sense now. Our members are savvy just because you put a price doesn't mean you have to pay for it, hence the OBO. Don't you understand the concept of OBO .

I was not trying to rip off the members when I did a search for F90 OEM that's the price I saw so I started there and put OBO.

Oh and the grilles are sold so thanks for the bumps GRANDPA .

With all due respect, I don't understand why you would call maverik259 a grandpa. Like I don't believe that should be an insult. At the end of the day, this whole community is about all of us loving cars, especially bimmers, so why come at someone for doing something to their car and calling that modification ugly? It makes no sense.

I get it that everyone is entitled to an opinion but honestly, if you have nothing nice to say at all, just don't say anything. Constructive criticism will always be appreciated, but just saying something for the sake of being a troll or to make another person feel bad just isn't right.

Hi walt814, it started on another thread on a classified thread. He called me like snowflake and a "kid". Unfortunately I could not hold back a retort . When he called me a kid lol, I figured out he was old lol.

Yeah just some friendly back and forth banter. All I remember from Mavericks build thread is he put on a lot of parts, likes a lot of attention then put on those god awful tri color grilles, made all the parts on his car irrelevant.

At the end of the day, I don't mean and ill will. Enjoy your cars guys!

I'm currently deciding if I want to switch to DME. I've tried Bootmod3's stage 2 e30 map and the best I could get 60-130mph was 7.4. DME guys are getting low 6's. I tried bootmod3 stage 1 e30 and I got a 7.1, but it was at night with cooler temps. My best 1/4 on stage 1 e30 was 10.7 at like 126 mph.

Stage 2 e30 non prepped track my 1/4 time was garbage but my et was 131 so def made more power.

Any enough of hijacking Maverick's thread.

What makes grill stripes from amazon and fake m badges an imposter? An imposter is a non m car with stickers , decals and cladding made to appear m and is not m. The easiest way is to throw on grill stripes. You can enjoy whatever is you wish. Just my opinion

Your car is an M5. No one can take that from you. And if you like the tri color grill, it's your taste and your M5 to do what you wish.

I think why they keep saying imposter is because a lot of non M car owners put the tri color on their BMW grills to fake the M car look. I have seen too many non M cars with the tri color grill that I wouldn't put it on real M car grill.

Beauty is in the eyes of the beholder tho. If you like it then don't hold back. Enjoy your ride.
