Useless Rear Window
Hi,
Is anyone having problems with no wipers on the rear window? I realize I knew this before I bought the car, but I thought BMW would have some way of mitigating that to ensure you can see through your rear window. This image is after leaving the heating function on for 10 minutes in relatively misty conditions.. I can't wait to see what snow and ice will do to it.. |

In the damp, misty conditions we've been having up here recently, mine clears perfectly well. It doesn't seem to take any longer than any of my previous BMWs.
Have you thought about taking it back to the dealership and asking them to check the circuit ?

Of course, now when you shut the car, the windows rolls up about an inch to seal the door, but when it's filled with ice and snow does it still work? Ben |

Drive faster and the wind takes care of it. I have never had a car that could clear its window of heavy dew or mist with defroster alone. It takes a lot of energy to evaporate liquid water
A rear wiper is always nice but I say good riddance to the extra weight complexity wind noise and ugliness

Hey benready,
The windows actually worked just fine. it seems when it's not fighting against the ice, but only sliding underneath it, it's a-ok. What cycler might have experienced with the slower up/down may just have been from a weaker battery (affected by the cold - batteries hate the cold) |

You don't scrape ice from the rear window with your wipers do you? |

However, I can understand if it's misty and water isn't clearing the windshield at lower speeds, causing something similar to what's pictures in the first/original post. |
