I’m more superficial than you guys, I like walking into the garage early morning on my way to work and unlocking the M5 and seeing those M5 badges in the seats light up. Never had a car with that before. Puts a right smirk on my face.

Love the versatility of the programmable buttons vs F10. I have one take me direct to the HP/TQ gages, one to the TPMS and one programmed for the center vent temperature mode.
In general I think the new iDrive is great. The configurable summary menu page is very useful. I keep the center position on map for traffic info and I love how I can zoom it right on screen. I even like how the seat graphics come up when you place your hand on the buttons. And of course there's the friggen point and shoot of the AWD and 600+HP! this car is just so damn capable. |

If you want to save the programmable buttons for other things, you can just ask it to show me the sport display, tire pressure, oil level etc..

Stock, no... not off of the line anyway. Even, tuned, I'd expect you to lose the launch by a car length assuming the Tesla was a P100D and actually trying and with a warm battery, etc. but you'd need to be using launch control and you'll look like a total spanner using launch control at every traffic light. In addition, the BMW nannies will shut you down quickly, too). Even in my E63S (EuroCharged tune), I'd give them a run on the launch and then reel it back in almost instantly and ultimately pass it.
For the F90, all the 1/4 mile data we have agrees but, of course, it depends on the tune... and the day, and the launch, and the temp, etc. |

The exhaust burble/crackle is intoxicating. I find myself making sure I'm hitting the right rev points to make it happen FAR too often
I love the wireless Apple Car Play feature. Super slick. I love the power/speed combined with AWD traction making it feel like a solid daily driver in the winter in Colorado. |

I am using my M5 as a daily. One thing I love is its ability to hide the fact it is packing 600 large horsepower. You are not aware unless you push it. In Efficient and full Comfort, it is as normal and as unexciting as any 5 Series. The throttle is long, the suspension is firm but compliant, the only sign it is a performance car is the heavier steering and more sensitive brakes. Other than that it is a 520d. You can not even hear the exhaust. I love that, as 70% of the time, I drive this car under the speed limit, especially considering the recent bridge calamity heres that has tripled traffic.

Having only driven the car for 13 days in total since delivery, I'll have to report back later. Car is already in for service with 411 miles on the odometer. Got a drivetrain malfunction warning and horrendous idling. Took it in this morning and apparently it already needs a new high pressure fuel pump.

I think the car is the perfect executive sedan. I can take clients out for meetings during the week and canyon runs on the weekend. Most people paying over $120K for a 4 door sedan don't want anything to far out there.

Having had the car for just over 4 months now, I'm focused less on the massive performance, and just enjoying what a REALLY good car it is overall. I just might keep this one a long time.

My last car was a 2018 AMG E63S. Prior to that, I had a 2017 RS7 Performance. The M5's interior isn't as "wow" as the AMG. The M5's exterior isn't as wow as the RS7. And yet, I'd pick the F90 M5 Comp every time simply because it does *everything* well (while the others have their niche)... and on the performance front, it competes or beats both (depending upon the metric, of course). |
