From a weight-savings perspective, it just looks like they made CCBs standard, slapped on a carbon roof and put in lightweight buckets. My memory is CCBs are about 50lbs lighter by themselves and I'm guessing the seats (assuming front and back) make up the vast majority of the rest.
Will be curious to see how the remap and chassis tuning play out, but ultimately comes down to what premium BMW decides to charge. My guess is it will be great, but not worth the money. |

However, I have brought the M5C to tow the 450kg/1000lb track car ... and use the 4wd M5C on track when wet or just for an occasional change. ... so I can see the appeal of the M5CS - though the discount would have to good, since its a niche market and so much choice at that price point - even the pammy turbo S tows. |

For the M5 CS you can order it without the bronze wheels. FYI.

TBH I'm not in the market regardless. My pre-LCI comp will do fine until something truly new comes around, but..
What I don't get is the lack of clear branding/hierarchy with the colors and effects. How did they decide to go from M550i with bronze-ish accents and blackout rear lower valence M5 with chrome-ish and black accents and body color rear lower valence M5c with black accents and blackout rear lower valence M5cs back to bronzeish??? I'm not acting like the M5cs will actually look like an M550i to anyone who knows anything about these cars, but given the already "sleeper" look, what are they thinking with this accent lineup? |

154 lbs is taking one person out of the car, or traveling with less crap in the trunk. Get an M5C, tune it and be done, with enough money left over to mod it or lease an SUV.

This is exactly why I think this car is pointless. An M8 would be so much of a better choice for the potential buyer of this car assuming they want to stay within the brand.

I’m in the tank for M5s. Glad they built it - but - won’t be buying it.

That runs into its own issue of the cs looking like the standard IND / M stuff added to the M5/M5c... but I think that's a better problem than sharing too close of a color scheme with the M550i. |

b) The main concern I have about the CS is the price. That it will find the faith of being a garage queen in a rich man’s 20 car garage instead being a driving enthusiast family man’s ultimate M5. A car that drives a lot like a sports car but works great as a daily. Further add to the price with bling will not help. Last edited by solstice; 01-06-2021 at 01:28 PM.. |
